mod manager or manual install?
Just got the game. Which one do you use? I see that some of the mods I want to get ask you to manually install because Vortex messes them up, which happened to few games I played before as well.

In my experience I couldn't get vortex to work. I would do it manually.

Do not use mods. The game is barley usable as a clean version. But defiantly not with vortex.

Vortex, couldn't be easier to keep mods updated

I have tried a dozen combinations of suggested versions, load orders, clean installs, sacrifice a pound of butter to the butter gods for 1.8 and nothing seems to work right now. For all of 1.7.2 development I downgraded to 1.7.1 which was the last stable modable build, imho, and I haven't seen any updates to essential mods since 1.8 came out of beta. Don't think about modding until Full Release or Steam Workshop is implemented. It's still a fun vanilla game, if frustrating and clunky.

what versions of harmony, butlib, mod manager, etc are you using? i downloaded the latest versions when the game was 1.7.2 and they conflicted with eachother.

the latest versions available for 1.8 stable?

the mount and blade launcher is tarded and complains about everything (. version mismatch etc.) just ignore it, the mods work fine

Manual. There is no reason to use Vortex for a game where all mods go into the same folder.

Use the following launcher from the same author of those mods to avoid that issue:
