everyone constantly declares war on me.
I just started my own empire and every 5 secs another kingdom is declaring war on me. at one point all of the kingdoms had declared war on me and the only way to not get wiped by everyone was to just force peace with them all but now I'm paying like 20K a day to everyone even if I'm just dominating them in the war they won't let peace happen unless I pay them 3k+ in gold. at one point I was at war with the western empire and captured half of their lords, killed like 2000 of their troops compared to my 500ish, and took a town and 2 of the like 4 castles they had left, but wouldn't let peace happen unless I paid 3k+. it's very frustrating. what can i do to avoid this??

Did you do the Neretze's Folly quest?
TribalGawd Sep 3, 2022 @ 2:19am

That's the problem. It's not optimized. When you do it, it basically puts a huge target on your kingdom's back and causes every other kingdom to constantly go to war with you. My recommendation is to start over, do NOT do that quest. Only once you've mastered the game in its other aspects would I recommend taking on that particular challenge.

i mean yesno. the thing the game doesnt tell you is that you should be really ready for war meaning having a ton of high level troops in your fief and on you, having extra parties running from your clan and a ton of money. lets say 1.5 to 3 million should do it.

get cheap clans to join your kingdom asap and defend your one fief, no attacks. do that till you got some time nobody attacks and get more and more people for your clan. once defence is easy you can start attacking.

but if you dont know all that yes it gets difficult.
also once you started war do not think your fief will make any money. the villages will be raided all the time and thats fine for the start so dont bother building the town/castle up aside of defence stuff before you get everything under control

Edit: if you dont want to start over i think you can just lose your fief and nobody should want to see you dead after that i think after you got people to stop attacking you (dont know tho)

You, a nobody peasant with a rabble of farmers, have declared yourself a king in a world that is not yours. You are a bloodsucking mosquito on the arm of a giant. Why are you surprised then when you get swatted at?

i totally get all this, didnt think i needed that much money tho jesus i had 300K but i was a lvl 5 clan, took my first fief from a rebel had 200 mid-high tier troops in it. had all my clan armies going they all had atleast 100 people. i was actually looking for the low lever clans to recruit running towards some of them when the first declared war on me, then like not even a day later in game another declared war on me. so i ran back to defend and take their ♥♥♥♥. and i was dominating the northern empire, the vladians were at war with the sturigans so they were leaving me alone,(the town i took was a sturgian town that rebelled) so they had to run through all of sturgians territory to get to me. but then the freaken western empire declared war, then the khuzait then freaken battania and like i was totally able to do fine against 1/1.5 kingdoms but they started to overwhelm me. at this point i had 500K gold from how much i was dominating the western empire and selling all prisoners, only releasing lords on 4k+ ransoms and the gear. but since i was legit in a 1v5 i started to make peace treaties with everyone, all my clan members were taken prisoner, i was losing everything so i did peace treaties with everyone even the freaken northern empire that was getting destroyed would only do peace if they were getting paid 3.5k gold. most of the other ones wanted 7k+ at most points.

I was not just some like barely LVL 2 clan that rushed to finish the dragon banners quest. I took a good bit of time to build up, and get to what I thought was a really solid point. the moment a town rebelled I left the kingdom I was in and took it over immediately. all the people i had good relations with were in the khuzait and southern empire so i was heading to them when this whole ♥♥♥♥ show started.

yeah the game doesnt mention how big of a deal it is to get another kingdom going. in 9/10 playthroughs you usually want to work with an existing kingdom because of how much more chill that is XD

Time to sharpen the old axe. Who cares if they hate you if they're already attacking you?

lol big facts, i was thinking of just executing them all, at once point i had like 10? different lords from 1 kingdom in my prisons, buy sadly i didnt want to go on a massive genocide and just wipe out all the lords of specific kingdoms xD
