How to recruit lords to your kingdom
I am at a total loss on how to do this, I have a ton of friends in other kingdoms that have their relation with me at like 60+ and they refuse to join my Kingdom, I have even tried paying them a ♥♥♥♥♥ ton of money and THEY STILL say "I like my liege and neither you nor your purse can change that" So I decided that when the kingdom went to war with me to steal all of their fiefs, and then try again and had 75 relationship with this lord and HE STILL SAID HE'D PREFER TO BE FIEFLESS WITH HIS LORD vs joining me and getting his land back, is there ANY way to get lords to join you rather than just promoting companions for 20k and 500 Influence?

Look at the power of their clan. If they have a town or more than one castle, there is no chance they'll join you. You need to recruit weak lords.

Relations with you and with their liege is very important.
The power of your kingdom vs their is very important

It's going to be a lot easier to recruit a noble you have high relations with that also has great rivalry with their liege and it's much easier to recruit someone who will feel safe in your kingdom.
Availability of fiefs in your kingdom will have an impact on nobles' decision to join or not.

You won't be able to recruit someone tied to their liege through blood relations.

A little late, but in case you didn't figure it out or others are looking for answers:

Once you're friendly with a leader of a clan (clans are families within an Empire), initiate negotiations when he's alone. Steps below:

-Find the leader of the clan you want to recruit
-Speak with this leader and tell them there is something you wish to discuss
-Choose the option “Your liege, …, is not worth your loyalty”
-Go through the charisma checks and try to convince them your kingdom is worth joining
-Barter with the lord and bribe them to have them join (more friendly he is, less he will ask. Above a certain point they join for free.
Enjoy the new power of an extra clan under your kingdom!

Also, you can save prior an attempt and try again if the charm convo fail.

I find it easiest to recruit them after you capture them and put them in a dungeon, then go through the mini game and convince to join and pay them the money they want it can be very expensive

- They like you
- They homeless
- Their kingdom is weaker than yours
- You stinking rich.

They will join for little cost.

When you first start out recruiting lords to your new kingdom. You need to look around for whatever clans that hold no fief to get someone that might want to join you. That is the key thing..
