Just fighting on Aserai lands pretty much limits the Campaign portion of the game.
I totally disagree with your opinion. The Ai that the game currently has is not very bright and easily makes aimless movements on rough terrain. I wonder if deleting all rough battle terrains would do the trick.

From a practical standpoint, being faster than your opponents in the world map and only engaging where you want to is both roleplay friendly and tactically intelligent.
