Throwing Weapons - Am I crazy?
I love throwing weapons and I especially love all the crazy perks in this game.

But there's something off that I'm beginning to notice in their use. Am I crazy or is there something wrong with the launching of the weapon?

When you throw a javelin or knife or axe, it doesn't go towards the aiming reticule. As soon as the projectile is generated, it begins arcing, requiring you to aim very low to score an accurate hit.

The AI does not understand this, and as soon as I built up an army maximizing on thrown skirmisher weaponry, they just kind of huck everything over the enemy line. It's funny but self-defeating.

I don't think an AI has ever landed a hit on me with a thrown weapon, either.

Tbh I'm just sad thrown weapons don't get stuck in wall crenelations like Warband. Was always hilarious building Nord armies and you finally get up the ladder to see a bajillion axes dangling there.

I literally get hit at least once an hour and I'm pretty super hero in my campaign world. Are you fighting battles at all or just arenas? In a battle do you engage or send your troops and then just mop up the runners? I'm pretty sure that they stick in wood too, I'll have to check that but I think I've seen javelins and arrows stick in wood columns.

Clear some Sea Raiders Hideouts and don't let your men run before you and you should get hit on occasion..

Yep, can confrim that too. For example, a rider in full speed hit me with a jav from far away into my face. What a hit... I flew out of my sattle like a cannonball hit me :D

But I confirmed OPs issure too. Sometimes my troops throw the javs really questionable over the enemies but sometime they hit they so precision like a ATGM.

I always order my troops to stand in a line, hold fire until the enemie are in a good range and give them the hell. Most time it works very well.

My elite troops that I take into hideouts with me DESTROY with throwing weapons. I have them on follow, and I just toggle hold fire on and off as I need. The number of one hit kills I've seen from a Javelin to the face is pretty awesome, actually. There are times it catches me off guard and I'm like "ohh sh*t dude" like when you see someone get wrecked online.

Why do you use troops in hideouts? That a perfect place to lvl your comps.

I gave up on using thrown weapons for my companions a long time ago. I've noticed this since the beginning of this year. Maxed out companions are great at using bows/crossbows but when it comes to thrown weapons, companions cant hit an enemy unless they're right next to them. As you stated, they just throw it over the enemy every time.

Thanks for bringing it up. I thought I was the only one noticing this issue.
