So unless they plan to add blunt damage 1h weapons that are equal to the cut damage weapons, it is kinda useless in comparison.
Exception being the polearm maul or 2h maul, which can be crafted to achieve 90+ damage. Even then you aren't gaining anything over a crafted cut weapon because they lack crush through or knockdown like in warband, also the argument for more prisoners isn't relevant due to certain medical perks.
The problem with allowing for longer two handed blunts is that they don't get stuck like axes do, basically allowing for huge area denial. You can build long swinging blunts via polearm, but these will be single hit.
