Locked in as a king in Vlandia
Something kinda funny happened, i have no idea why but the vlandians loved me so much they forced me to become king XD anyhow Derpderp died (Derthert) and his son inherited the kingdom, however the nobles hated him and voted him out (didn't know that was a thing) and they decided a native born Imperial was a better fit and had me become king.

But now i kinda want out i never intended to become king lol i have a wife and kids i gotta think about i can't go get clapped on the battlefield anymore. Honestly i wanted to make my own kingdom from scratch but this happened xD

Any ideas on how to leave the kingdom? I can't just leave it because i'm king so i'm locked in now and the button is greyed out lol. Thanks for the read and tell me yer guys stories =) i'm in sandbox mode btw =)

No idea how to leave a kingdom when you are king but that sounds hilarious! Congrats on being Mr.Popular :D Hopefully you can get back to the family soon!

after you click the clan tab, there is a "leave kingdom" option on the top right of the screen... might have to click the parties sub-tab first

no dice i'm locked in as the king forever XD it's greyed out for me

Once you are king/leader of a faction, that's it. You can never leave that faction or give up the crown.

I think they're working on adding in a better/new/reliable Abdication mechanic. (Was mentioned somewhere in some update/blog/forum post from TW IIRC.)

Thats honestly a way cooler outcome than making your own kingdom! Didnt know this was a thing, very awesome

To be clear here, the OP was taking liberty with events or is using a mod. In the base game no one is voted out of faction leadership.

When a faction leader dies, there is a vote between three lords of the kingdom to become the new leader.

I tried but they're so strong now xD they're murdering the map without me. #Vladniastronk lol even when i gather most of the armies i can and run away with them to some god forassaken land they still manage to muster more forces xD

Well i play 1.5.9 and i am the King (or Khan) of the Khuzait. Voted to be the Leader of the Horde... Only Thing i can remember war help Monchug 3-times out of some bad battles.

If you have an older save before this vote to replace an existing faction leader took place I would enjoy seeing it.
