It may not work tomorrow.
Mods may not work tomorrow
Bannerlord may not work tomorrow!
This is Bannerlord!
(thisisspartmemegif - TW is Leonidas, Paradox is Lena Headey, Crusaderblade is the envoy, and "Paradox Bottomless Pit of DLC" is... the pit. )
That's not going to be possible. The best you can do is to reconstruct them using the Construction Kit.
^-- This. 100x this.
That was Medieval 2: Total War's only real flaw - There weren't enough ... kingdom/politics/diplomacy/trade things. They were there, but there just weren't enough and they weren't deep enough, either. The reliance on moving pieces around the map to enable these was an issue, too.
To claim TW has more politics than CK is blatantly false.
Comment list on youtube tells you just how "no one wanted" this. I am just marvelling how you could end up with this your dellusion.
That a handful of people want something and claim everyone wanted it, is two different things. Also comments on youtube is a poor reference, when majority of them is toxic waste and people trolling.
In terms of toxicity and waste Steam forum looks like THE prime source to me. And I mean across many games, not just Bannerlord. Often alleged issues don't exist or are minor in character, people just take them as pretext for venting, and it means entertainment for them.
After all, dev bashing seems to be a hobby just as gaming is.
For EU4 perhaps a "M&B With Fire and Sword" battle instance importing mod would make more sense, as it had guns (though I don't remember if it had artillery pieces).
The people who reply on youtube vids are the ones that are most excited to be commenting on youtube vids...
If someone posted a mod that put real doggy-doo in one's real shoes in real life, the vid would get fifty "Likes" and at least ten approving posts.
For myself, since I don't play CK3, I don't have any need for it. However, I will say that the CK franchise has done exceedingly well WITHOUT such mechanics. If CK3 devs thought it was a good fit, they would have already added some "battle" feature to the game. From what I have seen of CK3 play (quite a few hours of both CK2/CK3) the game is not designed to take the player from the campaign map into a drill-down battle map with ARPG fighting. That's not the game's "thing." It presents the drama of battle in a different way that fans seem to like a great deal.
Of note: A lot of players played Medieval 2:Total War without fighting battles... Yes, it happened. It started off with auto-battling Town/Castle battles since those could last quite awhile, had some irritating issues, and an auto-battle was more likely to result in a win, maybe even with fewer casualties. That evolved into playing M2:TW as something like a... boardgame. Risk, Axis&Allies, etc.. Considering the game's presentation, it probably wasn't a bad play conversion.
Anyway, i think it's all moot - I can't see TW's legal department not rising to the occasion here to protect the IP. That is... if TW has a legal department. Surely, they have at least one IP lawyer on retainer... right? Some HR guy? Some tax lawyer attached to their accountants? Or, are they just still running on a guess and hope over there? (If it was me, it'd be squashed quickly. I am, of course, anti-fun... :))
I have every TW game released and CK2 and 3. Tbh, I rather want to see the dynasty building part of CK3 get added to Bannerlord. More interactions and family dynamics between clans. What I would like, and what is reality is two different things, so that is why I play both tw games, crusader kings and bannerlord. One doesn't exclude the other.
Agreed.
Though, Bannerlord could use a trimmed down Dynasty mechanic and some intra-faction politics to help player immersion. Better NPC interactions, periods of both war and peace with enough variety of things to do during each... etc.
IMO, few of the NPCs or intra-inter faction mechanics seem to be... alive. They're not colorful or inspiring, which is sad.
I'd certainly welcome my wife trying to assassinate me or joining a coalition of schemers to overthrow the King. Maybe my son would turn out to be my wife's brother's and end up being the most amazing beetle-smashing moron the world has ever seen? :)

Agreed. If you could somehow combine the non combat depth of ck3 with the army mechanics/battles of the total war series you'd have something truly outstanding. I'm not a programmer so i don't know if it's just the inherent limitations of the engines or what, but it seems like most games can only manage one or the other. As for this mod, it could be interesting, but as Mork has already stated it's likely to run into some legal issues.
