Why are companions counted as clan members when they're just highly ranked soldiers?
I would prefer my companions not be listed on my clan page as members of my clan.

If they must be listed then I would prefer they are listed as companions, not listed as equals to the noble members of my clan.

the only noble members of your clan are the ones that marry into it, you and your family are just fake nobles anyways.

but that aside your companions can lead thair own parties and there probably could be the option to make them nobles in your kingdom like you could do with them in warband in the future.

The clan page already puts them in a companions tab

You're thinking about a different page than the one I'm talking about.

Yawn. Once again, that's not the page I'm talking about. The page I'm talking about is found by pressing N and then going to your clans page.

On that page it lists nobles and companions as members when what I'm saying is that nobles and companions should be separated.

nobles are nobles and companions are companions (wanderers)

both, nobles + companions are "clan-member"

I must be missing something, not an uncommon occurrence. In what way does this "problem" affect your game? I don't see that it does. If it doesn't, then this is just another whiny pointless comment about an early access game.

While your companions aren't nobility, they're still clan-members, in the same way a servant would be a member of the household. The minor factions all have their own clan, despite none of them being actual nobles. If the npc lords could actually recruit their own companions, they'd likely be listed as part of their clan as well. Them being in the clan page shows who their ultimate loyalty is to, not to show if they're nobility or not.

The issue is that they're listed as equals in the clan when they're not. It would better suited to have them listed under companions, not next to the noble members of the clan.

Is it an issue? it doesn't imply that they're equals, just that they're members, listed in an arbitrary manner. They might as well as be equals tho, since you can appoint a former horse-thief to the lofty position of governor, while making your blue-blooded spouse a lowly scout if you so chose. If/when the title of noble actually means something, then it'd be an issue. but at the moment, its just an eh thing.

Ah, I forgot that they cant have children, though no one owns a fief, its owned by the clan as a whole. fair enough
