Fewer Hair Styles!?

It's been a while since I played.

The game installed an 8 +/- gig update last night.

I began a new game earlier today and found there are a few new hairstyles.

Just now, I began another new game, only to find the hairstyle I like is not there, and it looks like there are less hair styles.

Anyone know what may have happened?

*** The hairstyle I like is a braided mowhawk (female)

*** The reason for creating several new games is the hope of the RNG providing a Huntress, Wainright, Healer, and Wanderer--all female. I trudged through over an hour of creating new games to get this. It would be really annoying to have to go through that again for the cool (now missing) hairstyle.

Advice and tips to help understand and solve the problem would be very much appreciated; opinions and judgement regarding my game preferences would not be.

When you start a game, you can choose all hairstyle. After that, you have to find the native barbers in towns to change it. Each culture has it's unique styles.

What's the point of the in-game barber when you can just press V to completely re-customise your character?

it gives you beauty points according to the barber's culture, which will influence how your seduction attempts will work out.
Or at least that's what I read somewhere, never bothered to try it myself.

In the two new games I mentioned above, I did nothing different. I just started the games with the default settings. It's strange the game would begin differently between these two times.

Thank you for explaining this to me, I'll start another one, paying close attention to this.
