How to prevent rebellions?
so the new rebellions feature is destroying everything I've built!! just losing all my places one by one, of course the NPCS are all doing fine smh.

So does that mean we need to now have a decent size garrisons at all castles and towns?

And we gotta upgrade the stuff, and assign governors? do governors automatically upgrade things?

lot more stuff to worry about now i guess D:

I haven't held many castles in my current run through but I believe having a considerable garrison along with building up buildings in it will be enough. Have a look at the bonuses each building gives and also consider using festivals and games to boost loyalty if you don't wanna build anything to keep them happy while your away for a bit. Good governor helps as well since they'll have bonuses

Right on! Yeah I guess I'll have to expand slowly now, cos before I was just conqueringthings one by one, but now I gotta slowly expand as I take a settlement and then build trust in it to keep it Loyal

Tbh I may make a new game because I am just wayy too spread out and got wayy to much going on with too many settlements that have poor loyalty. At first I got mad and rolled back to 1.5.5, but now I am curious to play the game with this new mechanic xD

Yeah the games starting to flesh out a bit more so It's hard to go on a conquering rampage and with all this means that taking everyones land will be a long ass process which requires upkeeping or all the silly things

Yes it's super broken now. I've loaded into my kingdom (5 towns 8 castles), realized everything losing loyality fast (and i didn't even care about setting kingdom culture same as that place, thought it wont affect anything).
On top of that every kingdom declared wars on me immediately and asked tons of money, even guys who I was already paying to.
Started anew and I'm not going to play on full difficulty anymore. AI is just plain unfair atm.

Nothing short of paying attention to your subjects ad showing them a little love will stop the inevitable decay into anarchy.

Too bad for the hack and slash conquering crowd. Now they have to actually rule their conquests,

1. Food-- make sure settlement has some, if not there currently is little you can do
2. Garrison-- make sure garrison strength is large compared to militia; always dump garrison in new settlements immediately
3. Militia-- make sure militia is not too big
4. Look at loyalty... do things to improve if it is low
5. Pick settlements with same culture as you to give loyalty boost

So do we need to add a governor to each settlement now? that could get expensive since they need to be real people and if they are sitting in a building all day they aren't out fighting. Also i hope the fiefs that I give to other clans in my kingdom don't end up getting rebellions! They better not screw me up!

Rebellion mechanic needs a counter mechanic.

A wealthy person would be able to bribe some corrupt officials, right? :steammocking:

Why this sounds so satisfying? :D

I think all that really matters is food and loyalty, I've never had a rebellion and I always build up those 2 things... some cities have a garrison of like 10 and militia of 400 and still no rebellions. For reference I own half the map atm.

ur gonna need food and good garrison but the more troops in ur garrison the more food they are gonna consume which might lead to starving population which would lead to rebellion...
if its a town its fine cause u can dump food and would ease it for a while but if its castle then ur gonna have to balance it...

Yeah, it kind of does, doesn't it?

That's a big consideration. My character is Aserai and my wife is Sturgian. Our official culture is Sturgian, so can my kids govern in either culture without penalty, or just Sturgian?

I been using an addon called "keep your own fiefs" which lets you keep fiefs or decide who gets them, but now with the rebellion mechanic I can see how its overwhelming to manage more fiefs than you should have, so maybe ill make a new game with fresh save stats and etc with this update and see what I can get into!
Scoobysnacklover Jan 14, 2021 @ 7:38pm
I was trying to take over the entire map and I'm about halfway with everyone fighting me now my own conquered fully upgraded cities are now rebelling against me while I already have my hands full. Pretty lame that it's not an option to turn on and off for some of us that are pretty far into our own play through.
ForwarD Jan 14, 2021 @ 7:43pm
I even wish there was an option to give rebelled city independence. For example, my Varnovapol rebelled, but I don't even care, Khuzaits will take it sooner or later anyway and I have a quest to crush Empire not them. I'd give them independence and forget about them forever, because I need my vassals on south fronts, not fighting rebels in the ass of the world.
