Giving Items as Gifts

Why can I no longer give items to lords as gifts?

I know I used to be able to because I often gifted them with horses.

But now the only option is cash.

But when negotiating peace between our realms, I can offer items.

What gives?

1.5.6 with no mods.

You can give only cash if the counterpart dressed in civilian outfit

In this case, I caught him in the keep of a town. If I catch him on the road, I can offer other gifts?

the things ur allowed to give seems to differ from my experience...
there are some lords who i can give anything(save for food)...
there are some lords who i cant give money/food/javelin...
there are some lords who i cant give javelin but can give money...

Yes, on the campaign map you can use your inventory for barter with a party leader.
And if you "call someone" to castle walls.
This is not my info. But this info matches my experience

True, in towns you can only barter cash

Yeah... find this really stupid personally, trying to get my sister married and not even 80k works, can only offer cash... hes in his castle, guess i got to catch him when hes on the road.
