I haven't seen anyone talk about this but it is a really cool new feature I discovered. I was a vassal of Battania and Caladog died. After his death, the kingdom held an election for the new king. It was between Caladogs son, me, and another lord. Since I had high relations with all other clans in the kingdom, I was chosen to be the new king. So now m clan his the ruling clan of batttania and my banner was even automatically changed to the ruler clan of battania banner. Just thought I was share this cool discovery.

That's pretty cool. I've seen the results of elections (and it was Caladog who died) and it passed from his clan to another ruling clan. But I was not Battanian, I just noticed it when I was trying to convert one of their lords to my side and it was a new ruler and not in his clan.

When I first heard about this a couple of weeks ago, I signed on with the Northern Empire who had the oldest king, Lucon, and set about building relations with everyone. He just kept getting older, so I broke away and formed my own kingdom. At 56 I got the alert that I'm going to die, but Lucon is over 100 and still going strong!

if you use the no aging for only your clan mod then you can pretty much out last them all and another way to get voted as king is get the current ruler captured by letting him lose in battle or by being taken into one of the enemies cities then go break him out and while doing so murder him to death while having at least 90% good rep with the others in the faction and then if you have to keep doing it to each new ruler if you dont get the throne you will end up with it
