A way to minimize the amount of crashes with mods?
I had downloaded a couple of mods and the game now crash. I used vortex to install the mods. At first I was able to identify the mod that was causing the crashes the game (uninstalled them one by one until it stopped crashing). Now after a couple of days playing the game is crashing again for no reason. It always has been in the same places. Now I'm playing vanilla again and everything is working fine. It's there a easy way to identify which mods can cause a crash or at least which one is causing it?

It's EA, which means frequent updates. Frequent updates crash mods because the modders do not stay abreast of keeping their mods updated.

So the lesson you should take from this -- Mod at your own risk.

Your best bet is using an old version of the game and not updating until some time has passed. Don't use the beta branch. Check the mod posts before using it to see if errors are being reported. The only way from there is to do as you've been and taking off mod by mod until you find which one caused it.

There's a lot of tension between us modders right now and TaleWorlds. You can see on the official forum. TW code is sloppy, unorganized, and limiting despite how much they breach their game being moddable (they hire lots of intern developers). There's an open letter from one of the bigger modding groups overviewing a lot of the issues, you can read on the official forum if you'd like.

I'd recommend taking a break for a while if you need mods to play (I definitely do). Lots of modders have stopped updating due to how poor the update process is. Sloppy code means lots of avoidable changes that break the modders code and force constant updates. No EA is not an excuse for this, it's just unorganized and sloppy work by TW.

Simply download the mod called better exception and it will usually give you a better log pinpointing what mod is hanging up

And are you crashing or is the game simply just closing itself randomly, with no error log or anything

The best place to seek support with mods would be our official modding forums or the community modding Discord server.

Personally I do not understand why modders even bother with EA games. Because things are changing a lot, the code is not finalised and mods will constantly be broken because of it. That is why the modders now whining about the modding being too hard at this point is absolutely ridiculous. If it is the same when the game actually comes out then modders crying about these things would be valid in my eyes. Now I just think "It is EA, what were you expecting!?". Exactly the same as players bashing an EA game because of bugs which is just as ridiculous. Modding is great but modders nowadays seem to act entitled af. TW does not really owe you anything. That is the impression I got from reading the TW forums.

Maybe you should first read up on things and then comment on it.

Modders are concerned about the modding kit not being suitable to start working on total conversion mods so they wrote about their concerns in hopes that they don't have to wait with that until the game is released. They can do a lot already for the big conversion mods already IF the tools work properly.

It's your short sighted ill informed comment that's ridiculous in my eyes, not the willingness of modders to start working asap on the jewels of mods we have in Warbands.
