How to change village culture?
Like title says. My village's culture is Batannia and I want to recruit troops that are Vlandian (my kingdom's culture). I don't see an option?

There's a mod for this. Not sure how good it is.

Well, bad example, as both cultures are rather similar (both origin from the franco-german empire from charlemagne/karl the great). The cultures in bannerlord are rather different. While german and french could be factions from the western european culture, every faction (except empire) is its own culture group, that does their things in their own way. Thus, you cant really convert them, logically. Maybe there will be a mod, that does it, but i wonder if it would be fun.

it need to change overtime. It's like rome still have been giving roman legionaires after it gor conquered. Makes no sense at all. Specially cause most of the map is empire culture, and it stay in the center of the map, meanning that most armies became imperial soon enough... It's boring, and if i map all the way back to vlandia to get a new batch of vlandians to make a army i lose several setlements. Without a culture change there is no meanning in actually having all those wars.

well, having some peace to prepare for the next war is also an option.

One of the kingdom options, Imperial Towns I believe it is, implies that conquered territories will change culture over time, but I do not believe that has been implemented. It seems like it was an idea that was never pursued beyond the idea phase.

i dont read any cultural part out of it. For me, it looks like the mayor semi-independent towns of the holy roman empire. Its a political thing, not a cultural one.

I don't think they will ever implement this in base game, mods will be your best fix for something like this.

The conversion of culture should come with a lot of penalties during the "upgrade" though.

I think the best way to handle this is to have a choice of what type of unit you want a peasant recruit to turn into. Armies are not culture. Armies are tactics and equipment. No reason a Battanian couldn't put on legionnaire armor and use a gladius. I think an experience penalty would be appropriate for this, as you would be forcing a unit to abandon their traditional weapons and learn new ones.
The culture of a town or village should remain the same.

You may look at the mod : Improved Garison, it allows you to have recruiters ( and trainers ) working for you once you get your first casttle / Town, among other things

Well i think it will be possible when the game comes out. As was said its the feature that is not done yet. I think it will have something to do with campaign and story progress. Creation of your own Kingdom/New Empire is the main topic of the story after all (if something have not changed, i want to play only sandbox till the game comes out since im using cheats. I want to enjoy main game without them). It could be tied to quests to speed up the process. Next sign of it is when it asks what kind of culture you want to choose when you create your kingdom.

I think it will be good to have multiple ways to change a settlement's culture when the game comes out, like burning the whole place to the ground and start from zero, or slowly change it through migration and assimulation, and like kaeladran said, having quests that speed it up

Thank you, yeah thats something that i think everyone would love to see.........Something like you burn down village and to change it to another culture you will need to spend its castles/citys prosperity.............Lets say half of the prosperity that village had before burning it down
