It definitely will be better than Steam in many ways, and if they add some kind of feature like Workshop... i'm out.
Argumentation without examples. Nice.

Learn to search and read.
https://lmgtfy.com/?q=GOG+Galaxy+2.0 (Since you're apparently incapable of using google yourself)
I already have the beta. And while chat is still a WIP, I can see all my friends on all platforms at the same time(steam, battlenet, origin, uplay, etc) and what they're playing. I can also launch any game from any platform through galaxy 2.0.. It can also install games for me.
I can effectively play any game thats on: steam, uplay, origin, windows store, bethesda launcher, battlenet, rockstar launcher, wargaming launcher, etc, etc, etc....
Without using anything other than Galaxy 2.0

All games imported automatically. It tracks playtime for all of them, achievements, etc.
TLDR; You're bad, learn to use a search engine you pleb.
