Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Statistiche:
Hideout debuff weirdness
One of my castles had the -2 hideout debuff to security and so i start clearing the bandits around the actual hideout before attacking the hideout itself...

Ended up getting carried away and wandering off... come back to my castle later and the -2 hideout debuff is GONE and the security is going back up.

At first i thought holy sh!t lords can clear hideouts on their own now?! but nope, turns out the nearby hideout is still there.....? but there are barely any bandits wandering around my castle now - if that matters.

bug? or is clearing nearby bandits enough to remove the debuff? would be nice as constantly clearing hideouts is getting tedious >.>

anyone know anything about this?

vanilla, not using mods or betas

...Ended up getting carried away and wandering off...

What were the circumstances, here? Was it in the Hide-out or just by a Bandit group outside of it?

Did you accept any "Quest" to take out that Hideout?

The hideout was a steppe bandit hideout and i was chasing down the bandits OUTSIDE the hideout (so that there would be less of them INSIDE) - but as they are quite fast i ended up chasing a group a ways away from where the hideout was then remembered i forgot to pick up one of my companions from a nearby town so went to do that, then stopped by a couple other towns to pick up some other things / do some smithing etc - by the time i came back to check on the castle / go back to clearing the hideout the debuff was inexplicably gone despite the hideout still being there.

on my way back to the castle in question (Epinosa Castle), i did two quests where you have to deliver grain to a village (Boreagora and Avasinton).

And as of now the debuff is STILL gone yet the hideout is still there lol. /shrug
Sometimes quests just expire and disappear.

I don't think there is any correlation between number of bandits outside the hideout and number inside. There usually about a dozen you have to kill to get to the boss, then he will have anywhere from 3 or 4 to 7 or 8 companions. Numbers with the boss are irrelevant because you can duel the boss and take them all prisoner.

Could be that they were remembering how hideouts worked in Warband (or some of the mods) where bandits would enter and leave hideouts, causing the number found inside to fluctuate.
read from several places online that yes they would leave (even in bannerlord) and you can kill them to thin the numbers inside - but recently have seen they changed this and its no longer the case?

anyway the hideout is STILL there and my castle is not receiving any debuff so im chalking it up to bugginess at this point lol not complaining
Maybe the debuff is related to a village linked to the castle having a "deal with the hideout" quest, and when the quest giver gets tired or a lord wanders over and auto-completes it without actually clearing the hideout, the debuff is removed. Or a lord auto-completed a "deal with this hideout" quest that popped up whilst you were absent and it counts as if it was destroyed when it, well, isn't.
*thonking* sounds like a reasonable hypothesis
