What happens to your equipment after your death?
Hello, I just started playing M&B II and my character is getting bit old (40 years old) so I want to secure my items for my kids. Will I loose my items forever when I die or they will be given to someone from my family?

Can confirm as of 04/21/2022 Version 1.7.1, when you die all armor, money, inventory items are given to your heir upon death. The only thing lost upon death were the troops lead by my main character, you essentially take over your heirs party.

Last two times I died (of disease) when I selected my replacement, the equipment from my main character was in my inventory. This was 1.5.4, if it changed I am unaware. I am playing 1.5.6 beta and have not died yet.

There is a thread around here somewhere where I have pics and show it working as I described.

Maybe it's different for the player character then. I've never actually died in the game.
I've had my siblings, spouses, and companions die on me though. And all of their items vanished with them.

I have never managed to get married or have kids. Nor have I ever had a companion die. We should swap karma...

Although in my current play, 1.5.6. beta I disabled death. May not have been the best choice as Derthert is not aging. He will never die and I cannot be elected king. Which is what I was attempting to accomplish. Oops.

If you pay attention to either your combat log or the after-combat casualty report, it will tell you if a companion has died. In the loot screen, you have the option to still go over to that companion and alter their gear. You can strip them there, before the game counts them as dead, to retain all the nice things you equipped them with.

Yeah in that way you can decide what to bury along with your fallen warrior...

Bury...?
Oh. I prefer the traditional 'burial at sea'. Minus the sea.

Feed the birds rather than the fishes.

I've read that you can lose ALL your inventory depending on who you select as the heir. If you select someone who is in your party then they will take over your party with all your inventory intact. If you select someone who is leading their own party, then you will lose all your inventory, as you are taking over another party who doesn't have all your items.
Unless they have fixed this recently, you should stash all your inventory in your settlement stash to be safe.

Yes lol, no one is dieing in your game because you're playing with training wheels on (birth/death cycle disabled).

Shouldn't warriors go to the nearest player-controlled settlement after the death of the squad leader? Do they just disappear?
