Choosing a spouse
How do you guys pick, I usually go for (in this order) Which faction-How old-Strength of family relations (daughter of king or strong clan)-skills. But I will admit that if I find the character ugly I may skip to the next one on the list lol

A bit unorthodox but I judge the potential spouse by the back of her head - for this is what I'll be subjected to look at as she exerts her usefulness unto the clan.

I usually pick the youngest noble from the faction I am most likely to be at war with.

1. It gives me a governor of the same faction when I get a city. Kids are same faction as mother, future proof.

2. Young has much more time to pump out children. There is a companion limit, but no family member limit.

3. It removes one noble from the enemy. One less army to deal with.

etc, etc.

thomund for that delicious armor
Faction. Personality traits. Stats. Stats. Stats.

2. Theres no amily limit, BUT there seems to be a preogressively tighter math restriction after every child. Havent had much luck with 4th and 5th children, even if young wives replace older ones. Relatable problem or just my luck?

Do stats affect childrens growth?

Ive played two large (2k plus days) campaigns since we got functional generational gameplay. So only two large families to compare. But the childrens starting values upon adulthood differed dramatically.

Does anyone know how it works exactly? Or have details we can pool to figure it out?

Great reasons! I never thought of seducing an enemy and all those benefits. I have been trying to play with the faction I like the units for but fighting them would result in getting the lands a lot sooner/easier :D

Faction, age, skills, traits. I'm usually looking for potential governors. If I'm playing Empire, I'll marry myself and my brothers off to any faction except Empire. Same thing with companions now. I choose them by faction then skills. Engineers get top billing once I have a medic for my main party. It's super easy to work on their Stewardship, Leadership, Tactics, Scouting, Medicine, and Roguery just by giving them a party to lead.
