How to level up your childrens skills?
I have 3 kids and 2 18 year olds, all of which have 1 in all skills. How do I get their skills up?

The same way you'd make any other NPC level. Make them use the skills you want leveled (to my knowledge not possible for charm).

This one definitely works well
Invite them to your party. Increase smithing with them. It is the easiest skill to level and has skills at 175 and 225 that increase other skills. Then when that is maxed, you should have extra focus points to dump into stuff. Go into stewardship as it is the second easiest to level. Assign them as your quartermaster and make sure you have plenty of food. (Keep in mind that this will lower your max party as they won't be as good as you or whoever else you have assigned as quartermaster)

Then after you max stewardship, spend points on whatever.

Great advice, and it works. Smithing is also really good for quickly completing the noble needs a tutor quest, sometimes given by nobles for their low skilled children.
