Quest Failed: Create a non-imperial Kingdom
So, I'm pretty far into the game and suddenly had a group of quest updates, all having to do with supporting or creating kingdoms, and all of them failing. I'm pretty sure I created a non-imperial kingdom because I currently own about 10 cities and 20 castles, give or take. I also have 3 clans as vassals, running around fighting for me. My chosen path was to establish a non-imperial kingdom. I went to the quest logs and saw that the box for "Be an independent clan" was not checked. I went to check the Establish Your Clan quest and it was completed about 800 days ago. I have never been anyone else's mercenary or vassal in this game. I pretty much just got strong enough to attack a castle, protected it well, and then took a bunch more castles and cities and convince some people to join me and abandon their kings. So, I established my clan a long time ago, I created a kingdom, and it is an independent kingdom. Am I missing something here? Is this another bug? I'm hoping there is something I can do about this, as I have spent a LOT of time on this game. Please help. Oh, and in case this is a bug: TaleWorlds, I'm not interested in registering with TaleWorlds to submit a bug report.

It is because you didn't go tell the guy you had made a faction.

i have the same issue.

i've figured out. You have to create your own kingdom on the clan overlay, just on the right of your clan name. Then you can talk to Isabel or Mazaros.

I'm almost sure I did this. Right now, to the right of my clan name, it says Leave Kingdom. I think that is solid evidence that I am already in a Kingdom.

Looking at the Quest page, under Create a Non-Imperial Kingdom, it says "You told Arzagos that you will create your own kingdom to defeat the empire. He expects to talk to you once you succeed." And under Be an Independent Clan, it shows Clan Independence: 0/1 with an unchecked box.

When I go to speak with Arzagos, my diologue options present as follows:

1. "About giving the dragon banner to an existing kindgom."
> He just tells me to choose who to give it to. Also, I don't want give it to an existing kingdom.

2. "There is something else I would like to discuss."
> Then I just say "Actually, never mind."

3. "I have a quick question."
> Then I just say "Never mind."

4. "I must leave now."

That's it! I assume I need to Create an Independent Kingdom before triggering whatever dialogue is needed with Arzagos, and I will need to Be an Independent Clan with Clan Independence: 1/1 to complete the Create an Independent Kingdom quest.

Update:
I just found a thread on the TaleWorlds website that was started on APRIL TENTH!?!? and has entries all the way to September 7th, with people explaining the same problem. Why the hell would TaleWorlds not have fixed this problem yet; even with their recent TWELVE GIG UPDATE??!!

The save I loaded was from a few days ago.

Did you have the possibility to menege your kingdom, like enacting laws, creating armies? because if not, it means you aren't indipendent

I remember this works for me:
When you choose to give the banner to an existing kingdom, you can choose your own kingdom. So you give it to yourself.

Uhm i have a problem

i started the quest to begin my own kingdom (create a non imperial kingdom) but i forgot i didnt stop time in the game so its been running while watching youtube and i cant complete the quest because ive been standing still for 10 years and i dont know what to do. Pls HELP

Ignore the quest. It is not required to found your own kingdom. It is only there to take part in the meager story line concerning Caradian history.

You can still found your own kingdom. Open the Clan window, hoover your mouse pointer over the Create Kingdom button, top right. It will show the requirements.

I too am having this issue, but for the Empire side. She wants me to make a new faction (I'm guessing this means kingdom?) she won't advance the quest whether I make a kingdom or not, just no way to go forward.

Maybe some of us want to do the following quest?

My response is to the poster above my post. The quest timed out.

Once it times out, that's it. You cannot move forward after that. It is simply the way it is coded.

What's the new time limit on that quest? I remember it used to be 500 or 800 days. Or something like that.

I failed it last year, will likely fail it again because I find it ridiculous that they make you seek out 10 people in order to advance it. If you focus on trading, combat or anything else then you might not bump into all 10 of them within that time frame.

They have the exclamation marks over the quest givers now, which helps a lot, but in all my travels so far I've still only found 4 of them. The quest is so poorly implemented. Worst quest I've seen from a game in years.
GIJoe597 Apr 16, 2021 @ 8:24am
It is 10 years. Each game year is 84 days. The quest times out at 840 days.

The few times I bothered with the quest, I found it very easy to speak with the needed nobles. There are actually more than 10 you can speak with, you just have to speak with at least 10.
