Units level too fast and looting OP?
Tried singleplayer for the first time in months and realized two things, both very much to the main problem I have with Bannerlord: It is too easy. Compared to the Chad, hardcore standalone dlc that is Viking Conquest, Bannerlord simply doesn't provide a challenge.

1) When I get new recruits it takes like 20 minutes fighting looters to promote them to elite infantry. I get the grind can be a hassle, but this just completely ruin the satisfaction from having a good army. In Viking Conquest, and vanilla to some degree, it took time and commitment to level units. Not saying it should be as grindy as VC, but it sure needs to meet it mid-ground.

2) Looting enemies after battle provide far too much money. Again, fighting looters gave me around 10k in 20 minutes, which easily supplied my growing elite army. I distinctly remember Bannerlord being more difficult when it came to economy management in the early game back in April, though back then in the lategame I was Midas-touched beyond belief -- the main reason I eventually quit, in addition to infinite influence.

I know this is early access, and I do enjoy the game a lot. Just wanted to share my opinion and to know if the majority agrees.

What I don't like is that the looter I capture is worth 5 gold yet the rags I take off his dead comrade is worth 20+. I am rarely swimming in gold early on but it seems a human life should have more value than some rags.

Remember in VC traders would pay little for junk loot, but if you were to sell it to hideouts you would get 5 times more.
Bannerlord needs that. We're making so much money selling junk loot, thats the main issue here. If you still want to sell junk loot and make billions you shoud have to befriend outlaws & bandits.

For the pace of levelling up the soldiers it should stay as it is for the time being in my opinion. Because in a quite short time fighting enemy becomes pinball game. You fight them, they come back with full force. (I know it got tweaked and nerfed, but still) So untill it gets balanced, players should be able to have an early and easy access to high tier troops.

Killing looters is boring, it should be financially rewarding at least. Also you will not sustain a 500 army on looters so it isnt that OP probably.

Funny, i remember the exact opposite complaint on the warband forums. Battle loot was worthless and there was no point in carrying it around to a city to sell. If you wanted to make money you needed to trade goods and buy shops. Now here in Bannerlord the complaint is that loot is too valuable and it's too hard to make money off of trade and shops.

Yeah, maybe it is best for the time being. It's a lot less punishing, that's for sure. Losing a fight in Warband/VC and it was a steep hill back to the top. But then again... 15 minutes against looters?
I just feel the sense of progression is all gone when no unit is out of my reach. The emotional attachment to my army disappears, if that makes sense. I don't know.

If you want to feel more of an investment/attachment in your army you could go full Noble Tree troops.

Villages are an absolute money printer for me, not because of their income, but because the AI decides they hate my one village in particular and will send dozens of lone parties halfway across the map to raid it, so all I have to do is sit there and kill them one by one. After eating ten parties and filling my prisoners tab with top-tier troops I need to go to three cities to sell all my loot because they can't afford to buy it all.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and suggestions! They have been noted and forwarded to the development team.
