basically vlandia is the predecessor of both swadia and rhodok from warband and both of those factions only had crossbowman.
+ this:
basically vlandia is the predecessor of both swadia and rhodok from warband and both of those factions only had crossbowman.
Yeah but like, you've got multiple selection of longbows and there is only 1 faction I can recruit them from? Besides, I have tried to recruit Battanian bowmen but they are soooooooooooooOoOoOo rare to find, I once checked about 15 Battanian settlements and only 1 had a single bowman, only one, had one...
But I cannot recruit from minor factions right? They dont have fiefs and they just wonder around
as far as i know the only way to recruit from minor factions is to fight them, take prisoners and recruite the prisoners once they were long enough your prisoner to want to join you.
You're doing it all wrong.
The way to farm elite units is not going from village to village but defeat enemy battanian lords (or sometimes mercenaries) who will have a higher chance of giving you battanian highborn youth's as prisoners. Then you convert said prisoners to your army and level them up 2 fians.
Same for any other faction.
Most of my army are Battanian Fian Champions and Battanian Fians.
The rest are Forest Bandits and Freebooters who are working their way up to Fians.
You can convert captured Forest Bandits into Fians when they are ready to upgrade, either by having the Leadership 125 Perk "Disciplinarian" which lets you promote bandits to proper units or by having control of a fief that has a Training Ground.
Train your forest bandits until they're ready to upgrade and then dump them into your fief's garrison and wait there for about an ingame day. When you check your garrison again, all of your Forest Bandits should now be Battanian Fians.
Doesnt recruiting prisoners add up to your roguery?
It does, but i don't see the issue?
Roguery is bad right
Just feels off.
Also, I don't see them referenced as that anywhere? I might've just missed it (not been playing Bannerlord that long, and not on the forum for too long either), but the only thing that points to them being an "ambush faction" would be the fact they're in forrests.
Drawwwww!
Looooooooose!
*A volley of Vlandian arrows fly into the air and hit thousands of charging Battanians*
Cavalry! Charrrge!
True. Vlandia is so much like Plantagenet England if you think about it. They are based off of the Normans and Normans had longbows besides crossbows.
If Vlandia would have regular access to Longbow Men, they'd be basically Battania + their hard hitting cavalry, unstoppable on the battlefield, mowing down any charging enemies with ease and the rest is getting moped up by the cavalry.
Besides, nice necro.
