What determines if an enemy is wounded or killed?
From what I can tell arrows and piercing damage (thrusts for example) = 100% killed?
Blunt damage = 100% wounded
Cut damage = the most random ♥♥♥♥ either all wounded or all dead or anything inbetween *shrugs* anyone got any more info on this? My current game I've solo defeated probably 200 looters now all cut damage and only 2 of them were wounded? tf?

Blunt 100% wounded.

Otherwise, there is an equation that calculates wounded chance:

Surgery survival chance is a mildly complex formula of
1 - 1/(1 + 0.03 * c + 0.01 * s)
where c is the wounded character's overall level and s is the surgeon's medicine level.

All parties have their surgery chances calculated by the same formula as your party. Since looters have no Medicine, they probably have about a 15% chance to survive being taken out with cut or piercing. Blunt never kills.

The skill info on this page gives the formula, though it doesn't include if the other side has Doctor's Oath.

I think they must have changed something though, because in an older version it used to be roughly 50/50 killed wounded when I fought looters with a sword and now they all get killed every time. Kinda sucks for the game mode I like to play where I can only recruit prisoners as a challenge

so from that formula looters basically got a 3% chance survival rate? I used to get 50% wounded all the time tho :s now 3% seems accurate, or even a little high lol

Should be roughly 15%, since looters are level 6.

1-1/(1+.03*6+0.01*x) = ~.15

where x is 0 or your medicine level depending on if you have the level 75 perk to apply it to enemies.

bad RNG? 15% is still pretty low odds. You're looking at like 7-8 wounded looters out of 50 defeated on average.

clever formula, but i was hoping it considered the amount of damage the guy took

100% no kill for blunt? Um so no mace to the face?

Uh, that should be the case. I only tested this with tournament arrows and tournament bolts, but should be true for melee weapons?

You need the doctor's oath perk. It increases the chances a lot. Similar to the chance of your troops being wounded.

I think I had bad rng super unlucky, was getting literally no prisoners fighting looters, I guess since they are low level it makes a big difference
