17,000 24-hour peak...
Welp, TaleWorlds screwed up on this one huh? 220K and third most popular game on Steam. Down to 17K and less players. Is a little communication, and a POLISHED and dated roadmap too much to ask for?

Help us Modders, you are our only hope...

its sad that the amount of patches is getting less and less....1 patch a month now...sad
Sept one big patch is a vastly better then a billion little daily patches that fix just a handful of this. Its not sad at all if you spend more then 2 nanoseconds thinking about it.

I played this game hundreds of hours in total on couple of different accounts. I stopped playing it when they said they will rework/fix whole perk system. I have waited until now and they fixed most of it. Now I will start a new playthrough(s).

Most people played what this game offers, to the death. A lot of people, including most of my friends, are waiting for the full release to play it again. This is not a multiplayer game to stay at the top of charts for years. Probably 80% of its player base didn't even touched its multiplayer. The game is not even finished yet.

lmao the perk system is still far from being completed. About half of them are implemented now.

People bought an alpha EA thinking they d get a Beta version with just bug fixes left.

Alpha is alpha so it is normal that many features and mechanics are not yet implemented, we have to be patient, it needs at least one year of development still.

Hopefully we will get the modding tools earlier and this game will be very popular because the game concept is kinda unique on the market.
This is not an alpha. There was literally a closed beta before it. EA seems to be used to bridge the gap between beta and release in this instance (...)
What they called the pre-EA versions is pretty much irrelevant. It's just a liberty taken with conventions to facilitate communication with the playerbase (although it's actually having the exact opposite effect, in my opinion).

In game development, alpha stage consists in implementing all the features and content.
Beta is about polishing and bug fixing, and typically starts after the game is feature-complete.

Bannerlord isn't feature-complete, so by definition, it's effectively an alpha.

I will reserve judgement until the new big patch is released, if it does not contain major fixes or new features i will be very disappointed

I know this. But at the end of the day the devs have literally released the game into EA with the intention (as stated by them) to bug fix and solve issues before adding more, then doing the same again. Not an expert on this by any means but that does not sound like standard practice to me.

Throughout the course of the early access period we intend to introduce the missing supporting features, such as, rebellions, kingdom creation and weapon crafting, while expanding and enhancing many of the existing features that are outlined below.

Ok? This doesn't change what I said. But I'm not going to argue about it further, it literally doesn't matter and is off topic from this thread.

You mentioned their stated intentions and he posted a quote of the intentions they actually stated... But that doesn't matter and he's off topic?
Nice defense.

Anyways; Like myself I imagine many have already played dozens of hours and are just waiting for the next big update, I expect to see the player-count spike dramatically upwards every time an update hits before dwindling back down again.
Sminky 22/jun./2020 às 11:32
I guess a lot of people are like myself have spent a lot of time with it, taken the SP as far as it can go and are now just waiting for the actual release and/ or more MP content.

there really is no point in modding the game right now , it keeps changing and braking different mods , wait until it is released

That is not what alpha and beta are in game dev...
Alpha means it has completed systems which are usable and playable, but they aren't interconnected; the game is playable, but in an entirely incomplete way, where systems that should be interconnected aren't yet due to missing things. This would be like having a battle system, a trade system, and a map system, but none of them are interconnected; you can play custom battles, but the campaign is non-existent except the map. Having a beta means it is fully-playable, but not content-complete; you can play a campaign, but it is missing many features. The core game is there, but all of the frills, testing and balancing and bug fixing, things like diplo being extremely basic, perks being onl partially implemented. This is absolutely a beta.

Don't pretend you know what term in game development mean if you don't have a clue.

He took a small section of an article that explains what early access is going to have in it, it might even be literally what it says on the store page. They have in an interview or blog specifically stated they plan to add content in slowly whilst bug fixing. I tried to find it for you but failed sadly. If you really care about it that much, find me an archive of past dev blogs since you can't seem to go far back on their website anymore. It would of been from around the time of announcing early access I'm pretty sure... otherwise it might of been a interview at gamescom.

i will keep voicing my critics about said crappy products:-)

Criticism is most welcome when it's based on concrete facts.
When it's just a baseless opinionated rant, don't act surprised when people call it out.

The simple fact is that your expectations weren't based on what TW actually said about the EA release, but rather on your own desires and misinterpretation of their statements.

TW explicitely said "You're getting A", and you chose to understand "I'm getting B".
You just deceived yourself. And rather than being mature about it and acknowledge it, you're now trying to shift the blame onto TW.

Basically, you're just a full-blown hypocrite.

Nobody has a clue. I've seen a dozen different game development teams use a dozen different definitions.
The only consistent point was that beta comes after alpha.
