Most people played what this game offers, to the death. A lot of people, including most of my friends, are waiting for the full release to play it again. This is not a multiplayer game to stay at the top of charts for years. Probably 80% of its player base didn't even touched its multiplayer. The game is not even finished yet.
lmao the perk system is still far from being completed. About half of them are implemented now.
In game development, alpha stage consists in implementing all the features and content.
Beta is about polishing and bug fixing, and typically starts after the game is feature-complete.
Bannerlord isn't feature-complete, so by definition, it's effectively an alpha.
I know this. But at the end of the day the devs have literally released the game into EA with the intention (as stated by them) to bug fix and solve issues before adding more, then doing the same again. Not an expert on this by any means but that does not sound like standard practice to me.
Ok? This doesn't change what I said. But I'm not going to argue about it further, it literally doesn't matter and is off topic from this thread.
Nice defense.
Anyways; Like myself I imagine many have already played dozens of hours and are just waiting for the next big update, I expect to see the player-count spike dramatically upwards every time an update hits before dwindling back down again.
Alpha means it has completed systems which are usable and playable, but they aren't interconnected; the game is playable, but in an entirely incomplete way, where systems that should be interconnected aren't yet due to missing things. This would be like having a battle system, a trade system, and a map system, but none of them are interconnected; you can play custom battles, but the campaign is non-existent except the map. Having a beta means it is fully-playable, but not content-complete; you can play a campaign, but it is missing many features. The core game is there, but all of the frills, testing and balancing and bug fixing, things like diplo being extremely basic, perks being onl partially implemented. This is absolutely a beta.
Don't pretend you know what term in game development mean if you don't have a clue.
He took a small section of an article that explains what early access is going to have in it, it might even be literally what it says on the store page. They have in an interview or blog specifically stated they plan to add content in slowly whilst bug fixing. I tried to find it for you but failed sadly. If you really care about it that much, find me an archive of past dev blogs since you can't seem to go far back on their website anymore. It would of been from around the time of announcing early access I'm pretty sure... otherwise it might of been a interview at gamescom.
The only consistent point was that beta comes after alpha.
