i played the game over 300h and i can tell u, its absolut meaningless if u invade/take all castels/towns for your faction or sitting 10 jears in a town only drinking beer and doing nothing...
the game and your king doesnt care about this little difference.
and even the king or game would care...he just would ignore the vote of the council/your vote... so it doesnt matter.
My Empress favors me (high relationship) and I got Razih, the most prosperous town in the southern world. I can run around with a 200+ party and still earn a hefty profit each day, thanks to workshops and taxes from Razih. ... such party is usually enough to beat down any other party except full stack armies (1000+).
However, somehow I lost her favor when it's about getting towns and castles.
Just to get an idea. The Southern Empire was at war with the Aserai for nearly 3 years. We took castle after castle and town after town, n the end, the Aserai succumbed to our armies and my own army took their last two towns, each defended by 2500 soldiers and militias alike. Both sieges where costly and took a good chunk of my influence, gold and soldiers - and yet, I'm still stuck with only one major city. No reward.
Now hear me out: I accept my clan name can't be brought up every time a castle has fallen to our forces. I also can accept if my clan IS one of the three options and doesn't get picked by the Empress. I do have an issue with the fact the same three clans* seem to appear nearly always in any vote while other clans, including mine, is rarely picked. And I wonder why - and what to do here.
Sure, I can always use my influence to convince another lord to hand over his castle. I just don't want doing that; I'd love to earn my castles and towns by battle prowess, not shady games.

Some year or so after I joined the SE, also Olek did so. That guy is ALWAYS on the list and got four or five fiefs already. From the OLD families of the SE only Tasynor seems to be favored and gets his name pulled out of the hat on a regular basis. I just wonder why Rhagaea doesn't want to satisfy the ol' guard and her champion a bit more.
From then on, i never joined a kingdom again and just go independent...thanks to mods:-) GG
without writing a full essay on this , Its because :
the way the game is programmed
full random ( when it comes to that feature ),and even when you are king or leader of your faction this happens 90% of times, and you CANT OVERRULE the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vote either ( the ai ruler CAN , player kings currently cant)
hopefully this will change when mountnblade 2 exits ea
yes, there was a mod i think wich somewhat fixes this, its kinda outdated, https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/1130
Wait a day for the AI to lose the castle/city they just got (make sure you don't enter it or your army will automatically donate troops to garrison -- don't do that) stay out.
take it again... rinse/repeat until they vote you the owner overwhelmingly
I played with Sturgians and had to wait ages for a castle and a town.
I played with the Aserai and those dudes kept throwing castles and towns at me.
Just my experience, prob different for others.
When taking a castle, are you alone or with only your clans parties? If you are not alone, other clan parties in your army may be counting towards the victory. So, if you call an army with just your leader party and call more than one party of the same clan, then perhaps their clan is considered the majority when the vote rolls.
How many players split off their companions to be available to join other armies?
Besides what others have already said (i.e. fief power distribution), then perhaps the last consideration is how many clans were at the siege.
You couldn't find any other thread on the issue and necored a 2 year old one? -)
There is a lot of reasons why you not up for nomination...
- The fief's location to your current one.
- The number of fiefs owned by other clans in your kingdom. And their fiefs in location to the new captured ones.
- The strenght, wealth and tier of your clan.
If you are not on the list at all, capture fiefs you dont want until you are on the list. After you are in a situation that you can win the vote, then you can get a town 100% sure.
AI also likes to give fiefs to clans that have 0, and from time to time a new clan will emergence with 0 fiefs, so whenever you are attacking a town goto the kingdom tab, and check if theres a clan with 0. If theres clans with 0 fiefs you can target a castle first and let the 0 fief clan win, and then move on the city.
