Custom Swords and Weapons
So I went through the grind to level up my Smithing. Made a really cool looking sword to pass down to my children annnnnnnd. Something is.... off. My character, and any character I give a custom 1 handed sword to, seems to hold it by the guard. The guard clips through the hand, they're nearly holding it by the base of the blade.

it's just goofy... Can't unsee it. And it's a little disappointing after working so hard to make a cool sword that's unique to you.

Anyone else experienced this? Any way around it, or any mods that would make it so my character isnt choking up so far on the handle?

it's like tthat for most of the crafted swords. sucks, been that way for a while and i doubt they will fix it anytime soon as its just a graphical bug.

that and they dont seem to do much besides patch random AI tweaks and ♥♥♥♥ that nobody cares about

I only have a problem with one of the two handed grips, it has a big space between pommel/handle and handle/hilt. It's unfortunate because it's a pretty awesome handle that gives great stats to any two hander.

Some of the pieces don't align properly and cause a graphical glitch. I've found it to be mostly the handles, some of them even show up as glitched on the crafting menu.

Then again, that doesn't matter much since I craft for stats and the glitched ones aren't the best parts around.

after last patch the crafting had some unfortunate events happen to it, not sure why some parts of this game is going backward, but its seems like some of the programmers are way in over their head on this one, they should actually hire some of the modders to help them because a lot of the are correcting the faulty work of taleworld, maybe that way it would go faster and less painfull.
ive never had that issue yet but some of my swords i make will later do what i like to call "exploding" where all the individual pieces are spaced apart and arent snapped together anymore

Handles don't seem to do much of a stat change. I was using different tier V handles though. I'll fool around a little bit and see if I can find a combo that looks nice and isn't bugged.

Thanks!

They do when you change their size. Blade and handle size are some of the ways to tune reach, damage, speed and handling. Pommel size with heavy pommels can also change those stats quite a lot.

Some handles allow the sword to be used as 2H or 1H sword so you want to check the stats on both when tweaking the parts and their size.
