I fired the lower skilled one. Had to make room for that early game engineer...
Even see my character's engineering go up when building siege, although really slow since 2 INT.
Your engineering will still go up even if you have an engineer, implying that your character isn't just sitting on their ass eating all the grapes while your troops set up a siege. :-P
I'll check it when I get on later with the dev console.
I noticed that it only works like that when waiting in settlements. Before I reached the town, only about 3 soldiers were getting healed per tick.
That depends on the perks too. There is a mod where you can select their perks remotely (no need to be in our party).
If you're a always on the move guy, pick the walk-it-off perks. 10% faster healing rate while moving and the High Morale Heal boost perk (10% more heal when high morale).
