I cant give myself a castle
BUT , i'm the king !

I am not on the list of participants in the elections, even when I take a castle without the help of others party.

Please, FIX this, give us more power in politics, we can’t even give a fief when we want it to anyone! (THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE)

Are you a vassal? Build up relations with everyone, build up your influence, become best friends with the leader of the faction. You'll end up getting one, You'll be running around one day and you'll get sprung with a castle.

Capture a castle or town close to the ones you already own, build up more influence and rank up your clan. Those 3 things will increase your chances. Proximity to other owned fiefs is very important.
I was stuck on 5 fiefs until I started expanding in another direction. I ended with 12 fiefs while my vassals got the rest of the map to play with. I could've gotten even more, but didn't need/want.

Im clan tiers 5, renown : 2455 , i have 10k of influence ^^ (Politic give me 50 per day)
I dont know why i cant choose, im the king.

It’s not for the gold (daily gold +11K) , it’s to better defend them. I want to keep the castles and cities of the borders in order to give my vassal cities not too difficult to defend .

I know right? I just started my kingdom, got another lord\clan to join me, but I can't give him any lands because I need 200 influence, in my own kingdom, to roll up the lottery, bet on him, and hope that he can get the castle. It's ludicrous.

Influence makes zero sense the moment you become king. This is not a democracy, it's a monarchy! You shouldn't have to use influence at this point. So you're the king and you have to go around winning battles in order to impress the lower nobility? It should be the other way around.

Do all of your clans have fiefs? Fiefless clans seem to get priority

Once you are completely surrounded by vassals it's very hard to give yourself a fief you've already given away. How exactly possible candidates are chosen is still not very clear.
It is easier to take a fief from a vassal that already has many others.
And vassals that don't have any fiefs yet (or have too few for their status) always end up among the possible candidates.
We should honestly go back to the warband system, and get rid of the current one. In the warband system, every vassal was given at least one fief. Then beyond that, everyone would vote on who would get the next one, and the king would choose who actually got it. No influence was involved. Five people that were related would obv vote for themselves, power-hungry people would vote for themselves, and then everyone else would vote for themselves or friends.

Wasn't any of the 3 candidate ♥♥♥♥ in Warband. And also in Warband, you didn't have to kiss anyone's ass as ruler. You could give absolutely everything to yourself if you wanted to.

Almost everything related to being a king and having your own kingdom is placeholder. The system is woefully unfinished. I wouldnt bother with it yet.

Better yet, the original M&B system. Warband was a little off.

There are a variety of factors that go into who makes it onto the list that can be selected for a town/castle you've taken. There was a long thread quite a while ago that went into the details in the code, but the main points were:
1-It needs to be adjacent (or very close) to a fief you already own.
2- The higher the clan tier the better
3- The more soldiers you have the better
4-The less cash you have the better
5- Having more fiefs then other lords hurts your chances

All of it gets factored into a formula, and the three members of the kingdom with the highest score are the one's that you can choose from. And keep in mind that what i listed isn't all of it, just what i can remember off the top of my head. It's also quite possible that the code has been tweaked since that discussion took place/
