Battle size ? What do you use ?
I've been using default 500. Curious what you guys use. More preferably , what have you see is the best for performance vs size of battle ? My system can easily run it. I'm just curious what others have found to be the best . Thanks

Set mine to 666.

I'd like to go higher, but after a certain point battles start being skewed against you, especially sieges.

666, lol nice choice. Yeah I kind of figured it would be that way. 500 seems good. 1000+ armies seem to work well with reinforcement tempo

At first I was at 1000, but it sometimes dropped the frames a bit, especially on sieges when the towers connected with the walls. After that, 800, and I got the same issue, but a bit less. So the only time I get the frame rate issues, is at the start of a large 800 people battle, like 1-3 seconds while loading in, after that, it's been all good really.

Granted, some issues when the towers connect to a wall, and the AI try to find a new path to get inside the walls, but that seems to be the same whether at 800, or 1000 size. The major difference I've found between 800-1000, is when the battles are just starting, whether in siege or open field. I easily save 2 seconds when going 800, rather than 1000, at those times.
What happens if you set the size to 800 and say 2 armies of 1000 men (2000 in total) meet and fight? I've always had mine on 1000

Interesting. What specs are you running ? I felt 800+ would cause too much frame issues with crappy AI pathing.

They deploy as 800 on the field. The remains 200 come in as reinforcements

For me, 1K caused lag... 800 seems about right. I will get stuttering here and there but no lag.

I may try it out. I just feel like sieges will be a nightmare lol.

On a side note , does anyone know how to fine tune troop numbers in battlesize ? That slider is super difficult to fine tune

Default 500, but that's just because my PC can barely handle that.
If I could I would go to 100000

Well at least you can enjoy the game. 500 is still a good time haha

If there are more men than the battle size allows, then the initial starting size of the armies are proportional and remaining men come in as reinforcements until one army runs out of reinforcements and has won the battle.

In your example both armies would come in with 400 men each, so 400v400 and the remaining 600 men on each side come in as reinforcements during the battle. Let's say 200 people from your army die, then another 200 get sent in.

If the battle is 500 (your army) against 1000 (enemy army) and battle size is 800, then the battle starts with you having 267 people and the enemy starts with 533 people.
