Wages of companion and family member
on the patch note it state companion no long had 0 wages, now they are super expensive in terms of maintain fee all of them cost 20+ for me, and most importantly is, my spouse also cost me wages now, why the hack will my wife charge me to fight along with me, and as her level is high, she charge me 48 per day, so are they discouraging people from getting marry at early game, and also recruiting companion as well? since it make no sense when you are poor at the early stage

Lol that's riddiculous. Why fix something that ain't broken?

I kind of get the companions, even though that seems like a very high price to pay for them. But the wife? Come on!

Wife is obviously a bug, or a very stupid decision. But companions seem like a fair deal, it makes sense to have to pay for them, mercs after all

I mean, you already pay over 1000 denars per companion, so you would THINK that would be effing enough....

You pay for recruits also. And then for upgrades. And still pay wages for them. Companions have to eat too lol. And theyre specialists in some specific roles, so of course they're expensive. Having 140 scout and 120 medic from start is bad ass

Also they can't die, can do quests for you, etc, c'mon...

20 is fine for them I think, the wife is bug I think, that makes no sense.

Yes and if I had to pay wages to them, considering I had paid their debts(equipment) when I recruit them, I should only paid their wages as a naked person with some skill, maximum a T2 unit wages, since those cloth and weapon is paid by me!

Please note that the feature they can't die is actually a bug, since you could choose your game setting with hero able to die in battle

Think about when you play in these setting

Actually the prices have been 300 to 500 hundred with the latest patches, it's not much.

You pretty much paid for their gear before, they could cost up to close 10k, but they changed their gear to be low price, so now companions are pretty cheap to get.

You already pay them a fair sum when you employ them. You pay for their weapons, armor, horses. That's already far more than most of your troops will recieve during their entire employment time.

They're also called "Companions" and not mercenaries. Even their title is "Wanderer" not "Mercenary". Mercenaries are either from the mercenary companies you find in the game. You yourself when you join a kingdom as a mercenary captain. Or the mercenaries you can hire at taverns who are regular units.

So I see companions more like adventurers\friends that are much closer to you than the average soldier, and are even considered a part of your clan. You can even assign them as governors.

So maybe sure, you could still pay them, but it should be very little, since you have to pay them every single day and you'll most likely gonna waste a lot of money upgrading their gear anyway.

20 every day is very little. You can make so much profit just by trading basic goods that the salaries of troops and companions mean nothing.

Wifes are costing much more than paying wages in real, so it make sense to pay wages to them in game.

They still gotta eat. They still have their own things to do etc., they need money for living. You purchasing equipment for them is your decision, I personally rarely purchase anything for them. Equip whats from battlefield and thats all.
And price is low af. You can earn thousands per day, could dozen is very little.

I pity those who have to pay their wives to stay with them.
