Can we get Trainer skill back?
The leadership's minimal xp perk for 1-3 tier troops levels way too slowly, and when bandit sizes approach 20-50 regularly late game(By this point your a tier 5-6 clan) it is ridiculously slow to level low tier units up if they are wounded half the time. (tends to happen if you need recruits to do most of the fighting to level up) Would it not be more realistic to at least be able to level up a ton of tier 1 recruits quickly with training?

In the original I wouldn't level up low tier troops quickly with a max 10 trainer + any bonuses, but if I waited awhile in some settlement to get my wounded healed I could at least level up some recruits if I couldn't fight for several days. Helped a lot restoring a 200+ army without grinding for 10 hours and storing higher tier units in castles and towns so they wouldn't accidentally die.

Troops level up quite quickly though. Would be different if they didnt.

I agree with this, it would aid AI in leveling up the low tier troops and stop so many recruits being involved in battles giving more troop variety.. I think gaining high tier troops should take a while and require fighting but getting a recruit to a more standard troop type should be quick and passive.

Right now the troop level up system is absolute garbage. All major battles, sieges are 90% comprised of peasants.

Trainer skill or make that first perk in leadership actually good. Indeed right now troop leveling is ♥♥♥♥
its really depressing sick of having to chase down looters or week lords with all my recruits for a mug fest

Yeah, the leadership perks was always trash (how the hell have they not fixed it yet?) and now you can't level on looters without insane casualties for no reason (autoresolve is broken).

Welcome to play every battle manually and using 75% of your recruits to replenish infantry losses.

Or just play khuzait horse archer and avoid the entire issue.

Honestly I would be okay with just being being able to get tier 1 troops to tier 2 troops passively and quickly if a skill is high enough

Well there are those leadership perks. I always raise my leadership high enough to get the raise the meek perk in the character creation since I know that I would probably not be able to lead armies anytime soon. I don't really like becoming a vassal and I don't wanna try the broken kingdom building yet.

If only the leadership skill do not take a ridiculous long time to level.. :steammocking:

If nothing else it would stop all the "looters are too hard on autoresolve" threads. Well probably not but it's a fun thought.

True, just feel they are way too slow. Raise the meek may just net me one recruit upgrade every few days. So wait 3 years in game to get 100 recruits to tier 2?

I thought one of the perks had something for the first 3 levels of troops

Trainer was overpowered like crazy for the player.

They are better off improving the quality of soldiers from fiefs instead.
Shouldn't be any recruits past the third slot but quite often there is.
