I think the marriage mechanic should be made easier.

So, stalking a particular woman and persuading her that you're the best suitor (on 2 separate occasions), then tracking down her father and paying a couple thousand denars is too complicated?

I agree it could use a little love (pun intended). Nothing like picking Phaea as your beau and tracking down which jail cell she happens to be in... like how can someone be in prison 80% of the game? Especially with her amazing gear?!

Your chances are low? With 100 Charm you're more likely to succeed than fail. Getting a wife is easy in this game.

its mad easy, look at your characters personality traits, find a wife/husband that has the same, choose the options that are green or red with 90+% and you will win, if you fail pick another wife. its not hard.

in warband you used to have to go and fight a bunch of other nobles in duels just so you could have a chance, not to mention have to go around and learn a bunch of poems from all over the map in different taverns.....in bannerlord it is literally just a menu. it is too easy in my opinion, and you also get max lvl gear from it??? it needs a serious buff.

So you save scummed.

Having ~80% success on each check is high, as in good Charm and the desired traits, and then succeeding 3 checks... just over ~50% chance of winning her over, then another game of it, looking more like ~25%.
That's why people talk about aiming for the critical success, cus the odds are not in your favour.

The system now are dumb. So you failed a 94% chance roll, I will never speak to you again!
I mean the system begs for save scuming. I would like it bether if you could improve your chance by increasing relations with their clan. And the marriage should make your clans allies. It should be easy to make their clan join you if you have your own kingdom, and that clan should be loyal (atleast as long as you treat your spouse good:-))

Until they are you are married it should reset your chance to talk to them again after a year. Especially as they hit mid-late 20's, they are hitting old maid territory and in the old days that would be nunnery time. Of course the other lords (and factions) should be courting them too, so if you don't get your ideal wife within a year or two, somebody else might get her. But that mechanic is not in the game yet.

Need other suitors, jealousy, honor duels for compitition, wars declared over somebody stealing their girl (or boy) away.
You know...like historically accurate, because all this stuff used to happen. You should be able to swoop in early and get married if you are lucky before things get complicated, but if you wait too long...it gets REALLY complicated. Also they need to bump the ages up a bit. I know dudes used to die of old age at 45 but they were getting married right up until the due date.

dont try to marry before you have enough renown. i found it quite hard to marry nobles before i got to lvl 3 in the clan tab (lvl 4 is better).

just think about it, you dont want to marry your only daughter to a stranger that nobody knows and where you dont know what he is up to... noble or not, with level 1 you are a stranger. nobody liked aragorn back then either ;) bad example but eehh..

but if you hear that he is a great warrior and leader, and if you hear that he is honorable you might think different. at least in this game....

Really? I was able to marry at level 1 with 0 issues. Cost me like 2 grand and a cow.

Yeah, the system is ridiculous. After 100 hours of gameplay and 10-15 attempts I've never been married in this game. I never cheat playing video games, so I haven't played the game since I wasted hours running around Calradia rolling dice on speech checks. It wore me down.

It made me miss Crusader Kings II and SIMS III, where a wife and kids was a very achievable goal.

It's just a video game, give me a damn wife. I have my own kingdom and millions in coin.

Why am I rolling dice on this matter...Jesus Christ.

depending on who you marry i guess. i chose the daughter of the Khan Monchung of the Khuzait (Alijin) in order to be in the kings family. i needed 60k, one empire jewelled helmet (that sells for 80k) and a Southern Lord Helmet that also sells for about 60k.

she also came with the best armor, horse and horse armor in the entire game. maybe it takes into account what she wears, because that is how it works for companions.

but at least im now pretty high in the clan and nobody can vote on my castles because i count as ''part of the kings family''. at least i hope that counts for me aswell now

I do it at the start of the game as soon as I have 5 k in the bank and it takes less than 20 savescum to do it.
