How do I grant myself a fief as the ruler of a player kingdom?
Every time I take a new town or castle, it goes up for vote. I get choice of three people to give it to, and I can ignore the amount of support they have and give it to whoever I want.
However, I myself am never an option.
Soo.. what the ♥♥♥♥? Every single clan leader in my Kingdom can have as many fiefs as they want, but the literal KING doesn't get to have ♥♥♥♥?
I do not understand. How to I keep something? for myself?

Did you participate in battle?

Yeah I hate the whole fief allocating system. What I do is give it to whoever then use the barter exploit with them to take it back. I can then either keep it or barter it to someone else. The only way you can distribute them evenly. Otherwise it is just the same two or three lords up for vote.

If you have the influence for it, and don't mind a relations hit,. just try and remove it from them with politics, and then see if you appear on the vote after that.

I managed to rip Dunglanys as a Battanian noble from someone like that.

They all hated me for a while, but voting for them in the future got them to like me again.

And I kept my nice shiny city.

I actually tried that, but the next three people who came up to vote were still all different people. No me.

Though, since it seems to be based on council support, maybe it's the fact literally every single lord in every single factions absolutely despises me. I did a lot of executions while serving as Vassal to Vlandia early on, and when I left Vlandia to become my own Kingdom, I took my fief with me. The only fief I have, a castle.
So, that made the Vlandians hate me too.
So maybe since my relation with literally everyone is somewhere in the range of -100, no one puts me up to vote?
But the thing is, I'm the kind of my own Kingdom. Why do I need them to put me up to vote? Obviously I don't intend to take every single fief and make everyone mutiny, but come on guys, can't the King just take one city for himself?

Related: how do I uhh...
mend a relationship that's -100 points down the toilet? Is it possible?

Do you already have any city or castle?

Thanks for the tip!
Do you know any ways other than supporting them though? Not that I mind, there's certainly some big helpers in my kingdom who deserve recognition, but only one relation point per support means digging my way up from -100 is gonna be an issue.

I have one castle. two of my vassels own multiple castles and cities each.

Hmm, you could try clearing bandits and doing quests in the zones with their property and donate prisoners or even directly talk to them and gift them gold/stuff, that should help, and i made a mistake, Support - gives 2 reputation, not one.
Andragon Apr 15, 2020 @ 12:03am
That sounds like a weird bug. In my player kingdom even with 17 factions I had in I always was one of the options.

I've heard about donating prisoners before, but it hasn't worked.
Though, I'm guessing that's due to soldiers not counting. Does it have to be heroes/lords as prisoners to get rep?
I'll try giving gold and killing bandits too. I need to grind up an army anyway, so cleansing the land of criminals should get my peasant army trained up.

You don't, get less holdings than every other clan and maybe your name will show up
MrFluffyWolf Apr 15, 2020 @ 4:01pm
Turns out, Whitehaven was right. I got someone up to at least above -50, and they supported me enough to get my name on the ballot!
Time to start that influence grind

Well I don't have any clans with relations less then 60 in my kingdom. Most of the clans are maxed to 100 relation, couple are 80-90 and 1-2 are around 60+. And I still never get to choose myself as a ruler of a castle lol.

Though there might be a name issue. I noticed that something odd happens with the names. For example I battled some lord named "Moracan" or something like that, he was from Vlandia and we're at war with them. So I beat him and took as a hostage after the battle, though he looked different than from his icon, but I didn't pay much attention. But when I came to the castle I realized I have 2 prisoner lords of the same name, one from Vlandia and another from Sturgia, with whom we are not at war currently. So wtf?)

The same thing with fief voting - my name is Pryndor, some random name game proposed to me, and I have a Pryndor lord in my kingdom, and this guy is always among the 3 lords to choose from. So my guess is - maybe names are very close connected with id's of a characters and game literally thinks that this guy is me? That would explain this odd thing with voting, as this other Pryndor is pretty sneaky guy and no one loves him, so it's strange he always gets nice support of other clans. And this would've explained issue with 2 prisoners of the same name, the other obviously teleported right into my dungeon lol

eh i just figured cant have em all, i got 3 cities fighting solo. got my income to about +2000 with 320 t6 horseman of various origin. im satisfied, let the little lordlings get their bread
Fred Feb 3, 2021 @ 5:32am
passive income means nothing to me tbh, i have 30k cargo packed full of items i can never get rid of cause i just bankrupt every city as i stroll through. currently at 4.8 million. i got a lord to join just by trading him rusty narrow swords xD
