You have to be wielding a couchable lance and your horse has to be moving fast enough.

Though it's debatable if its worth it. Those lances tend to be smaller then the other spears/lances you can't crouch with. As in you can't even see the pointy end with a crouchable lance. (makes aiming a tad tricky)

True the reach and vision is wonky, but the dmg is not a joke. You can get upwards of 500dmg from a couch, you cant get that from spears/lances.

You can get between 100 and 200 damage from simply stabbing without couching. Which is enough to kill anything. So yeah, couching isn't that useful most of the times.

I reprogramed it to the middle mouse button. Using X while you are also trying to pick up speed sucks.

Just a hint, aiming is rather easy with lances if you switch to first person for this.

Couched lance can take out anyone very easy by just running at them. It is probably the slowest kills per minute though. Which is why it my preferred method for taking out Lords in battle. I run bow and lance. Run at lord kill them with a point stick to the face; pull back and shoot arrows until I run out. Charge the remain troops for fun and profit.

So out of curiousity how do the couch lance work? I got around 800hrs on warband but I never really fought myself due to hardest settings, I love being able to actually charge through enemy lines now without getting stuck in the middle.... I also somewhat feel below average in trying to aim melee wise.... ah yes a sword swing right at the dude next to you? Miss.... cause he’s too close to you while you on horseback and your sword doesn’t go that close unless you look downward....

You have to pick up speed first, wait for the white extra sign to appear above your weapon icons.

Make sure you have a fast horse.

Just remember that a lot of the weapons that have "lance" in the title are not able to be couched. Make sure you read the weapon descriptions.

KInda like "Throwing" spears in the game that you cant throw lol
