35 too old for a female character to marry?
No male lord is giving me the option to suggest my hand in marriage, earlier in the game the option still appeared.
Is 35 really the limit, do I have to restart now or can a companion fill in as successor for my dynasty?

Yes thats indeed the case.

Workaround: download dev console from nexus

type in it: campaign.set_hero_age "lords name" "desired age" (no quotation marks)

So what happens when my childless female character dies of old age? Game over or do I play as one of my companions then?

lol didnt know about this

Some have reported having lords be 200 years old, some, like in this case, die at the age of 60 or whatever, select an heir and still cannot play.
This is exactly why companions refresh every now and again, if you plan to play a 1000 year campaign!

I've downloaded the developer console however when I input this command it says cheat mode is disabled. How do I get around this?
