What to do with gold
So, I feel like I have entered the mid game. I have joined a kingdom, I own 2 castles, have 2 other parties as part of my clan and I have an army of 115 troops. I have four workshops and am making positive gold most days from my income. I have over 300k in gold and honestly have no clue what to spend it on. I am in a bit of a funk where all I do is battle, win, battle, win, battle, win. With the current set of features, am I missing something? I understand this is a sandbox, I just feel like I am stuck. Granted, I did take advantage of save game files for some missteps along the way, but it didn't feel overly hard to get here. I am honestly not being critical of the game, I do enjoy it, just not sure where to go lol.

Create your own kingdom, you'll need the gold.
And just buy the best items you can until then

300K? that's nearly enough to buy 3 good bows lol

Yea, I check cities often to buy better gear, of which I believe I have the best. I think I spent around 100k on my gear, maybe more. I realize building my own kingdom is probably a future step, but that seems exceedingly far away and a lot of grind between now and then.

i don't know, start a party, buy high end gear for companions, commission upgrades, collect horses, have a bath (in money).......

Best armors are alot more expensive then 100k.

I stupidly just realized that the patches do not apply to existing save game files lol. I am still playing 1.0.0. Guess I should start over haha.

You are mid game but you are almost preped for making your own kingdom. Make sure you can wield all 3 of your parties without going negative. Also save up more money. The end game armor cost 600k. I have over a million but went into the negative during a recent war and was draining money. Mercenary companies get paid 500-600 gold per influence. So if they are all winning battles you have to pay money for that.

Or maybe you might decide you want to change the look of your companions, even buying all fresh t5 gear for 7 companions could run you over a million.

SO you're actually kind of poor, make that money.

When do "best armors" show up then? I am lvl 9 or 10 with 98 troops and all I do is travel around the world killing bandits and trying to find decent equipment.

The deeper you get into the game the less gold becomes a priority.

You need to switch your focus and start taking over land. Two castles is nothing.

I focused far too much on making money in my first game. When I hit a million, I zoomed out and the map was conquered. Then I had to start executing people. It was a disaster.

Too much time wasted on making money. Not enough time spent killing people.

Ah so you are in the early game, reaching mid. They are very, very rare. And can be bought from the start of the game in cities. Vlandian and Imperial seem to have more high end gear for sale, when it comes to armors.

what katzen said, making money is not the hard part in game, you need to start beating people down and releasing them to improve relations. The less enemies you have the better. From relations that is.

Far as when they show up. I'm lvl 19, think I found mine around lvl 16. You should also get married. I think most of the wives come with its factions best gear equiped. And since they are better as city sitters they have no need for the gear.

First - 300 K is just nothing!
Good weapon, armor, saddle, bows, good horses cost more.
2 Castles is nothing - I try to win for my clan at least 2 Cities and some castles as a vassal.
I spend lot of money for presents for nobiles in cities to improve my diplomatic state with clans (and my charisma), with kings especially. After I create an own kingdom there are less troubles with peace declaration or with hire of lords for my kingdom.
To play an old version is nothing - lot of updates implement other game mechanics, new gear, companions, goals and so also gameplay.
