Gang Territory
I've noticed that Gand Leaders own/control different areas in towns like ''Backstreet'' or ''Waterfront'' for example, do you think this is because in the future we will be able to play as a Gang Leader ourselves?

In the game's description in the Steam store I've found this: ''establish secret criminal empires in the back alleys of cities''

If this really is planned then I hope we get it soon because it's what I've always wanted to play as in a Mount & Blade game, anyone else?

I don't think this is true. And you can't have your own gang, but you can recruit "thug" units and other mercenaries

You can fight gangs in the streets. Just pick a fight with them where you find them in the Backstreet, Clearing, Waterfront of any given town. :P

What I mean is that since different gangs control different parts of towns then it must serve a larger purpose for the game in the future, like they are obviously planning on allowing players to play as a criminal gang leader etc.

You can definitely fight the gang, Just be sure to call in your companions by telling one to "gather the party and find me in the city". Then go to one of the POIs and talk to a thug and tell them that you don't take orders. Win, and you can trigger a raid.

Don't think it actually does anything big though. I beat up a gang leader and other than gaining some relations with other notables, it was business as usual. Keep in mind you'll have to fight like 15 guys by yourself + companions in civilian gear so I hope your athletics is high.

The devs did show in earlier teaser that you can install your own party members as gang leaders in cities after these skirmishes, but it isn't in yet, or noone has found the right path so far to do it.

You wait there and have an encounter where you fight the gang leaders reinforcements with some of your units in civilian clothes. After that you loot their gang stash (getting stuff like thamaskene steel).

Also, currently there are like 2-3 gangs in every Town, I don't think it should be like this when the full game releases, it doesn't really make sense for every single town to have criminal gangs especially when the towns are so small, I mean the guards could easily just find the criminals and just slaughter them, it's a bit of an immersion killer because you'd think gangs would be just a little more rare and elusive, I hope they change it later on :D

Dang, how do you succeed with that in just civilian gear?

Actually its a good earner in the early game, keep your companions close...

high athletics, there's a surprising amount of weapons that are considered "civilian" which you can check at any store or in your inventory by clicking the icon at the top.

in addition to that it might also help to have that leather armor on some of the lower tier vlandian cav is using (that leather scale armor), it is marked as civilian too and i think its the civilian usable gear witht he highest stats if i remember right.

The "civilian" *chuckle* Battanian Mountain Blade.
Alternatively the "kidney stabber" short sword, that thing is quick and deadly.
That thing is a real head chopper, and flank them while your rabble keeps them busy.
Also training medicine n your char helps with extra 10 hp and good battanian "civilian" woodland clothes.

Its an unfinished feature. After all its pretty much pointless for companions to have the rougery skill atm. Guessing it will be added in a later update as its not exactly a priority atm.
