You have to follow the main quest line about making a kingdom - it involves talking to people.

Look in your log.

All I have is "Weaken Empire" "Istiana's plan" and "stop the conspiracy"

the stuff to make your own kingdom rn isn't great because it isn't a fully implemented feature. when the game is out of EA youll probably be able to make your own kingdom whenever

thats because you didn't follow the main quest for creating your own kingdom

So .... if you supported another kingdom ... is there a conspiracy to actually stop? I just got this quest message ...

Kingdom creation technically isn't implemented yet

I do believe is a yes since is part of the main history line (once you join or create your own Kingdom)

Its actually implemented. I did create my own Kingdom. I don't know to what extend is implemented but I had access to Kingdom options and my own Kingdom. Regardless, is not a good idea (at least in my game) since the biggest Kingdom will attack you before you even ready to counter.

To OP: you must not follow any other Kingdom. You have to keep the banner. Giving the banner to another Lord just makes you his/her vassal. You could also go the easy route and once you are given a castle or city just go "Rebel".

You need to use console commands to give yourself the banner back and reset the quest as you cannot create your own kingdom after giving it to another king. if you wanna make your own kingdom you technically can do so without it but it will never be official and you cannot recruit lords, have policies or maintain armies.

Is there some guide for the console commands? Can't find anything sensible when Googling. I would really like to give the banner back to myself.

Yes, I would really like to know them too, since I did not know there was a timer.

Found a mod to enable the console command on Nexusmods:
https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/4

Fiddled around with the storymode. commands, but couldn't get it to reset properly. Guess I load an old save before I handed off my dragon banner.
Please make in game start option to disable this quests, for example my quest on creation non-imperial kingdom is bugged and I can't create a kingdom, it sucks!

Try typing campaign.create_player_kingdom into console
