It's incredibly too easy to lose reputation and takes entirely too long to repair it, don't even think repairing Reputation with Town NPCs is possible as they don't give you quests anymore when you're in the negative... you can't bribe them far as I know and you sure can't beat them on the field of battle then release them. Maybe killing off nearby Bandit hideouts will give you like +2 each time.... but that's 50 Bandit hideouts you have to kill just to get back to 0 reputation.
You can cheat and use the developer console though to change reputation.
Your noble ♥♥♥♥♥♥ can be swayed by donating influence to them.
It's easier to gain influence with your enemies by not capturing them after battle. They escape anyway.
I literally gave the guy 50k gold and it did nothing.
Nah i'm talking start of the game, I pissed off the Sturgians accidentally and want to find a way to work for them now.
any luck? also at the start of the game
i suggest you fight them still and beat their clan members that hate you initially, release them from captivity at the end of the battle until you're in the positive.
if you've executed someone from their clan there really is no redemption for you unless you want to grind the previous statement.
bartering is ♥♥♥♥ right now and doesn't offer any means of reputation gain as it did in warband so don't waste your gold or supplies on that. even giving a fief out through bartering hasn't done anything for me as far as relations go.
otherwise you can help their villagers if they get caught by bandits, clear out gang members in their respective cities, or grind the captivity bit previously stated above.
1. You can go to a keep and play that board game "Tablut" with the lords relatives for +1 rep per round and they sometimes play up to 3 rounds in a row with you (only works if you already have >=0 relation or else they refuse to play)
2. Gift them gold or other stuff when you meet them in the field. The amount of rep you get depends on the size of your gift. (also only works if you don't have negative relation with them! )
3. This is very counterintuitive but start a war with the kingdom of the lord you want to improve relations with. Make sure to start the war by attacking a lord of a different clan from his kingdom and don't siege any castles owned by the clan you want as your friends. Then fight as many battles against lords from that clan as you can. Each time you win and let them go free instead of taking them prisoner your relation with every clan member goes up by 3. This also works even if you have -100 relation with that clan at the start. When you're done improving the relation just pay them to make peace.
