They look like nords, fight like nords, speak like nords. So they ARE the nords XD

The Sturgians seem to be the for-runners for both the Nords and the Vaegirs. Im guessing somewhere down the line they had a drastic split between incoming nordic settlers and the native, Boyar lords. Whats interesting is that the name Vaegir seems to have been the name for the Imperial royal guard, so i wonder how they came into play.

they are not, when you read the descriptions of sturgia in the game it becomes pretty clear that they are mostly vaegir with some integrated nordic mercenaries who migrated into sturgian territory.

The Sturgians. Based on the real life Kievan Rus who had been influenced by the viking/Scandinavian cultures from the west.
Wikipedia: "In the 11th and the 12th centuries, the princes and their retinues, which were a mixture of Slavic and Scandinavian elites, dominated the society of Kievan Rus"

But I do agree, they seem more like Nords than the Rus. I always forget they are not the nords.
