Can two-handed swords hit multiple enemies?

Yes. On kill. I believe yes... I've torn through recruits with these..
This is when I've been noticing it with the 2 hand sword I've been using. I'll kill a target and hit another. With a 2 handed axe I use occasionally, however, I have noticed sometimes I'll hit up to 3 targets if they're closely pack in front of me and I get a good clean swing, regardless if any die or not.
Yup. If you deal enough damage to kill one, it go on to hit the other, and if you still have enough momentum to kill that one, it'll go to the other and so on... I've killed up to 3 guys that I know of. The axes are better in my experience, but swords aren't bad.

I believe that icon means that it does extra damage to shields. That's why it's commonly on axes.

No. It means it breaks through blocks. Every weapon that can do that will go through multiple enemies. Tested with Rhomphalia, Executioner Axe and 2h Falx

No. It means it breaks through blocks. Every weapon that can do that will go through multiple enemies. Tested with Rhomphalia, Executioner Axe and 2h Falx
Weapons without that icon also hit multiple enemies, like 2-hand swords. I believe 1-hand axes have this icon and they do not sweep through enemies

They tend to not hit as many as often, yes, but they still hit multiples. And the 1-hand axes only hit 1 target

This. AFAIK only axes have Cleave through target ability (with reduced damage per target hit) while other 2H can only do so if the first target dies.
