Is there any point to knives and throwing knives?
In situations where you can have those you can also have bastard swords and javelins. So what's the point of having them?

i wondered about that too. throwing knives make more sense altho you should have far more of them, but no idea on the normal knives. they went to the trouble to create them, but they seem entirely useless...

Many weapons can't be used in cities. There's also speed etc. to take into consideration, a crafted dagger can actually work quite well in sieges when fighting on a wall.
They exist only to exist atm, sure they are light..

I hope they'll implement some nice things for them.

like for dagger, bonus dmg when attacking someone from behind or flanks.

And would be interesting with some city missions like murder/assassination where they could be brought.

And after some balance patches perhaps other weapons won't be as overkill.

Yeah, this was one of the niches I could see after having serious trouble waving my voulge.

The problem is that weapons allowed in cities are governed by Rogue perks, instead of, say, throwing knives being allowed under all circumstances.

Of course, assassinations open up the can of worms about virtually no play-style other than 'Feudal Noble' being implemented at the moment. That includes crime and espionage.

I think you can craft a dagger you can throw that isn't a throwing knife. Might be usable in the city.

only if you have the 125 rogue skill
without that you can only use swords in town (both one and two handed) which ones you can use is determained by the blade and annoyingly it doesn't say anywhere in the smithing menu which ones are civies

At first i tought "hey, that would be awesome to have a throwing weapon that is light, so i can use it as it won't slow me down"

Then i saw 3 throwing knives bundle is heavier than 3 throwing axe bundle, and as heavy as a light throwing spear.

Well, go figure....

Throwing weapons in general seems meh to me, maybe if you run a low unit party and do stuff like hideouts it's ok but that's not something I find fun to do over and over as it's incredlby unrewarding.

Maybe they're really good with the perks but I can't imagine lvling up throwing to that high, jesus what slog that must be.

I like using javelins on horseback.

With the added speed it's practically a guaranteed kill, and I find it way easier to land than spear/2H attacks (except for a couched lance). And you don't necessarily have to ride through the clump of enemies with spears ready to kill you and your horse.

Also, I definitely see the appeal of javelin/throwing axe + shield combo, I just need to get better at throwing to really get anything out of it, and you kinda run out of projectiles quickly.

i tried to use them on the people with the conceal-carry perk.
then i realized.. that perk's not in game yet.

I'm pretty sure the "hand" - the mafia minor faction- uses them, alot-
i can't tell if they're doing anything- by time i've captured them my warband is too big t watch such details.
sorry this wasn't more helpful

No!

Javelins and axes, yup. Throwing knives, nope. Maybe if you could have stacks of 10 or 12 would make them more viable and fun.

I could imagine assassination quests for dagger.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Throwing knives are a broken and useless item/idea in the game, just like perks, and many other things in Bannerlord. Go figure right? So shocking.

I don't use horses anymore on my character in any playthrough, I can get 10 times more kills on foot. NPCs will home in on you like you like crack-addicts when you're on horseback.
Yes, but without a horse you're not able to get kills on fleeing enemies in light kit.
