From the word go I could one hit people... just golf swing it off the side of my horse as I rode by. And it's great vs cav too... has enough reach that you aren't boxed out by the size of the two horses which sometimes seems to happen with a sword.
Even on foot... just wide swings and BAM things die.
My advice - Players should level Blacksmithing before they become a Lord if they want to actually "enjoy" doing it.
(Playing as a Lord, too, and not in the somewhat broken/kludgy "Player Faction" mechanics.)
But my favorite weapon is some ridiculously long, cutting, poking, couchable monstrosity of a 2H polearm. Why? Because I basically just swing it back and forth riding through patches of enemies and the length of the cutting pointy bit means I pretty much never miss and one-stroke most everything.
I was lucky enough to unlock the warrazor recipe in one playthrough. The one I made felt kinda broken with 85 spd, 185 length, 150+ dmg.
The best fur is the light brown icon one i forgot the name of it as shoulders.
If i play as Vlandian or Imperials i always use lamellar.
Also made a ninjato-like 112 speed short 2h(110 or 105 lenght), was not really impressed with it; after passing 100 speed it feels like it does not make too much difference to me.
same tbh about the shoulders, I just have yet to come across them, once I can will be changing them over to lamellar (20 / 10) ones
