How to forge a couching lance?
I'm crafting but how do I know if my finished weapon can 'couch'? Trying all the options and none appear with couch.

i came here to complain about the very same thing. none apparently.

None of the craftable polearms can couch.

There's a mod for that, however.

take that back, after further testing i found out its the handle. I usually took the one in the middle *longest length, black one) but in fact those that have couching are those that have 2 handed twice (bug maybe) so its the grip you wanna change, and use it for spearheads that can thrust only i think (not swing) although havent tested this

[SOLVED BUT BUGGED] When I forged one, it didn't say couched, it said one handed, two handed, two handed in the crafting menu. Then after making it in the inventory it said one/two handed/ couched. It's bugged in crafting but it is possible. I believe it depends on the handle, aka pole, and the point on it. Thrust only I believe. But I successfully made a 229-232 lengh one at max crafting.

Correct! And you can forge a couch that also has a swing attack. Praise be the new glaive!

Not anymore, 1.0.7 denies our passion for the couching glaive, so look around nexus mods if anyone's interested. (Re-enables the couching for the default glaive / long glaive handle.)

Got an update for y'all, I can craft still craft a couch lance with both thrust and swing damage (using Swordstaff head), the head, shaft AND guard affect whether it can couch

Couching glaives are awesome, pity couching is only minorly useful.
The swings are usually easier/safer to use and oneshot anything anyway.

Hope they fix it.

No only the shaft effects if it can be couched.

Like somebody said weeks ago when the thread was opening in the smithing menu in the shafts you can craft with the options, one handed, two handed or two handed again. if the shaft had two handed twice, it means couch lance. There's around 5 shafts that can be used.
