#tutorial
to be fair the scenes are a lot smaller. But op should have just played tutorial.
Cant recall being told it being a location tool in showing where NPCs are. It just put their names overhead instead of having to look at each one and I never noticed it breaking line of sight.
World map locations isnt what I complained about.
I'm talking about the location of a NPC inside a city/village. It was easy to find an elder, lord, or another ranking NPC. Those you can start a talk directly from the world map or ask a random townsfolk and they'll take you right to them.
But this quest had me find a random, non ranking, NPC. No townsfolk I talked to had an option to locate him. The world map didnt list him with other important NPCs. The Elder I got the quest from wouldn't tell me more than "he's in hiding". And the quest log itself told me jack all.
I'm currently at work and cant confirm if left alt works or not to locate someone inside a city/village. Found a random lord holding left alt from seeing his name above him, but it didnt seem to work on NPCs outside my field of vision or past a certain distance.
Maybe I'm just an idiot who didnt read everything. Or maybe there wasnt an easy way to find that guy.
