more horses or troops increases the party capacity AFAIK.maybe some skills do that do but didnt check it myself.

Get horses. I went from inventory of 100 to a 1000 with ten horses.

even better, certain horses carry more cargo.

i just bought horses from a dealer, just horses and got more
