How Do you actualy find people?

Iv found out who a specific guy is from a vague name drop, and iv worked out where his lands and castle are, iv even found his wife. But for the life of me i cannot find him and i cant ask anyone where he is?

Check the journal {J key} that says the name and the name of the town they are in,

Once you reach the town you can see the portrait of all the important people in there at that world map view or you can go in the town and press ATL and that shows all of them including some are are not in the world map town menu but are part of a quest, like the feud quest.
