Finding Spies

Hey, is anyone else having a tough time finding spies in towns? I picked up a quest to find a spy posing as a tournament contender in a town. I have spoken to enough townsfolk to get enough clues to identify him, but there's never any potential spies with thugs (which is where the quest says the spy should be). There was one there on a previous save, and I killed him in a duel and failed the quest (he wasn't the spy). I'm wondering if even reloading an old save has glitched this quest now.

I am fairly certain that the quest is bugged and I don't think reloading the save bugs this quest out.

I walked around an entire town three times and found nothing, decided to wait until night and search again and now there was a contender waiting for me. So maybe try that.

I've also walked the city three times. I'm not sure if the quest is broke or what but I can't find the spy and I've gotten all the information I could and lead it down to two guys that aren't it at all.

there seems to be 2 bald and bearded guys, 1 non bearded and short hair guy and 1 short haired and bearded guy with face paint these are all contenders on the map, none matching the descriptions of the witnesses fully, and i have tested duelling them then reloading and trying again, none of them is the spy :/ quest kept failing

That's exactly the problem. It says this guy isn't bald and has no markings on his face. And there are two guys. One bald and one with markings.

Yes i still looking around to find him ... my last solution is try to kill all of them and see who is the good one ... ( with the pain of no sprint option xD )

the spy's name was Bold contender the last time i did that quest.maybe its the same everytime? and mine was next to a thug.

Ok here's how you do it. The quests are bugged right now.
You have to talk to random citizens and ask about the spy. You have to gather 3 clues to tell you what the spy looks like so you don't kill the wrong person.
Also they spawn in the city only AFTER you leave it and come back. Don't wait inside the city for them to spawn. Just leave in the world map and come back.
The contestants spawn at the three spots where the thugs spawn (hold ALT to see all the points of interest). In Aserai towns they're called watering hole, back alley etc.

Can confirm, left, fought some looters, came back, and they seemed to have spawned in.

i forfeit, can't found this spy, leaving and back to the town more than 10 time ... i'm not gonna do that quest again ...

i also failed it
and i hear almost everyone failed it.

So I just tested it. I've fought all the contenders that spawn, that is 3 for me in this occasion, and the quest failed with all of them. So there's no possible way I can complete this one.

Thanks all, sounds like it's just early access teething pains then! I'll try the leaving town and reopening it after work.
