Charcoal/Wood... Where?

So you need charcoal to make weapons, and you need wood to make charcoal... you also need charcoal to make wood when scrapping wooden mallets... Seriously?

I've seen posts about how there is wood in cities trade tabs. I've found none. There are also no villages specializing in timber, a resource that would be and should be used as much as grain would be in this era, but there's plenty of Add it in?

Has anybody found wood to turn into charcoal anywhere? If it is a city, which one? Need help.

EDIT: Some Battanian villages have Hardwood as a specialization

You can buy hardwood in the stores then you refine it at the smithy and it turns into charcoal

... look for towns zoom in and if they have farms, cows, mines, olive trees, horses then you know what they are selling. Charcoal is made in tows look aht smithing alternative. Ppl start clicking start looking for your self these stuff are in plain view.

If you view the tooltip for towns, it shows you what they produce. Some towns produce hardwood.

The city of Lycaron has really cheap hardwood that you can easily refine to charcoal. It costs like 18 denars.

Which is kinda expensive since you can find it for 11 and perhaps less in some places, depends on demand and such ofc.

This post was made on version 1.0.0, they have changed towns to have hardwood most of the time since then. Either that or my towns had bad rolls.

Town economies are different every time and dependant on the wars and fief raids as well as bandits. The Aserai faction is also generally a bad place to try to get wood. Towns don't sell charcoal as of 1.0.6.

I would lock this thread if I could, or delete it but it might still be informative to someone.
